This dispenser has been an absolute nightmare. Everything started out ok. It dispensed water at the correct temperatures and did not have some of the issues mentioned in other reviews. After a couple weeks, everything began to go wrong. The pump became noticably loud and I mean, I can hear it from several rooms away loud. It vibrates and hits into the casing causing a loud buzzing noise. I tried to fix the issue but it only came back after a few days. I went on a business trip for a week and came back to a puddle of water on the floor. Apparently the hot water tank began to leak from the over pressure valve and then would refill the tank.. causing the leak again. It damaged the floor boards around the cooler and emptied half of the water bottle. I began to unplug the dispenser every time I leave the house for long trips. This time, I forgot to unplug the dispenser when going away for a 2 week holiday and came back to an empty water bottle, all the wood flooring is ruined, and the leg of my table split due to soaking up water. I am throwing away this absolute nightmare and I will now need to replace all the floor boards and hope there isn't additional damage below the boards. This is a warning to everyone. Listen to the bad reviews. I've owned this dispenser for 4+ months now and it has only gotten worse for me. Save your money and buy something else.

I dont have high hopes for products these days. I just expect for them to work as advertised for a reasonable amount of time. This cooler worked ok for 14 months. It was always a bit loud, but whatever. then the thermostat flaked out and now it freezes water in the holding tank, making it unable to dispense hot cold or room temp water and completely useless after 14 months. The warranty is only a year. Support was fast to respond. But only offered to give me a small discount on a new unit or the option to wait until the thermostat is available for me to purchase and to do a repair myself. The thermostat is apparently on back order so this is obviously a problem they have often. Waiting months to pay 15 bucks for a part that shouldnt have failed so early and then having to figure out how to repair it myself or a ten percent discount on another new unit that will most likely fail again are both lame options for support to offer when the unit was barely out of warranty. I'd find another brand. Failing after this short of a time period is unacceptable as were their resolution options.

This was a very disappointing experience, considering how well the actual functions worked (hot water, cold and cool water) and the ease of bottom loading. The water had a distinct chemical (toluen/benzene solvent like) aftertaste from DAY 1- no amount of soap /water, vinegar:water, citrate cleaning packet, or charcoal packets in the reservoir could remove it. I kept using it awhile thinking "eventually the chemicals will flush out." -Nope! We use Poland Spring water primarily (until Primo destroyed that delivery service in MA), and now Monadnock, and both waters taste fine using a simple gravity dispenser. Put the same water through our unit - and awful taste. Contacted support: they need model number, date of purchase, another ID number and a hoste of questions - which they wanted ALL OVER again in their reply to my ticket. What's the point of typing in all these details with my initial complaint? I don't keep a centralized file of all my home appliances or have the time to repeat things as an overtasked neuroradiologist in a busy vacation seacoast area. here is their partial reply "To fully understand the issue with your cooler and what may be causing it, I just have a few questions about the cooler. This information will not only help me determine the cause of the issue but also how to correct it as quickly and as easily as possible. - How long have you had the water cooler? When did this issue begin? - How often do you clean the cooler internally? " Here is my 2nd response (of 3 total), reiterating the 1st email: "The cooler was bought new from Amazon April 2025 I cleaned it initially with soap and water It has had the odd taste since we bought it - it was very mild at first, so i gave it time. Now it is very bad. If you read my initial e-mail, I mentioned I spent 2 days in a row this August cleaning it with vinegar, then citrate solutions." At that point I realized that this particular Chinese company likely wanted to avoid replacing the unit by blaming me for the taste, instead of giving good customer service. Prove me wrong Avalon! I welcome good support.

I was really happy with this water dispenser when we first purchased it and impressed with the child lock system. It has a great design, worked well for both hot and cold water, was exactly what we needed. Unfortunately, it didn’t last. 2021 purchase and the colder water stopped working completely, and shortly after none of the dispensers work at all. Turns on, but water won't pump from jug to dispenser. Very disappointing, not how a company earns repeated customers.

The unit was fine in the beginning. It did everything we wanted it to do. Around the one year mark, however is when the cold water spout stopped dispensing. The other water temps dispensed fine, but we're in constant heatwaves and cold water is king. I called up Avalon customer support and we troubleshooted the unit. They had me take the top apart and look at a few things. Avalon suggested flushing the spouts with citric acid. The unit was out of warranty, so any additional parts or materials would be out of pocket. I ordered the citric acid and followed the instructions to a T. When that didn't work, the customer rep then suggested I buy a new cold water spout. Again, this would be out of pocket. How did I become Mr. Fixit for their faulty unit? I was frustrated with the unit's poor quality assurance and long repair tinkering. TL:DR - Unit was fine for a year until it stopped dispensing cold water. One year is conveniently the amount of time their warranty lasts, so I suspect that's the standard shelf life for this junk. IMO, buy something more reliable. *Update: Now the cool water spout has stopped dispensing as well. It's worthless. What a terrible product!

The last Avalon water dispenser was purchased in July 2018 from Amazon and lasted 22 months. I am trying this product one more time because I liked the features, but that may change as more reliable models with improved features become available. First things first: The CONS: the video advertise this water dispenser as "SELF CLEANING" This model A4BLWTRCLR is *NOT* self-cleaning as shown in the video so don't be fooled like I was. I wanted the SELF CLEANING version. THIS MODEL unlike the video that is provided and requires an intensely manual high level of effort to "clean" 2x per year. This task is a royal pain. You have to take the entire backing apart to clean this machine which will requires approx >30 minutes of your time (if you use a drill). The 1/2 inch "Drain Outlet" is what requires you to have to remove then entire backing from the dispenser due to the manufacture design (a flaw in my opinion) -- see the picture included. For the cleaning task you will need a bucket & maybe a jar as the machine, well, "urinates" and you will have to stand by as the flow will decrease and run down the side of the unit making a water mess. I think a hose attachment of some type would of been easier so that the water could be emptied into a near by sink...? The "cold tank cover" is fastened with plastic clips that can very easily break if you are not extremely careful and proper instructions are not included in the manual. If you break them while doing your 6month 2x per year cleaning you will most likely be on your own as the warranty (1 Year vary according to your state) will not cover this. You are required to clean out any "water mineral deposits" with citric acid or with "whatever" -- I highly recommend using the citric acid for safely. The PROS: the tube that fits into the 5Gallon water bottle is metal and easier to sanitize. The night light can be turned off. The machine does not generate too much noise, but I could still hear it across the room. Temperature: The hot water is actually the manual said 185degrees, and my thermometer registered same. The cold water dispenser produces cold water 47degrees but my thermometer registered the same. The manual said it takes 15 minutes to reach the correct temperatures, but the dispenser I received took approx 28minutes. The machine has a small foot print and fits conveniently into small spaces. The container due to the height 45" does not require anyone to stoop way down for a glass of water. The buttons at located at the top of the machine are well placed if small children are a worry because we all know just how curious those babies can be and what they are capable of doing!? If you have an extra long water container, the door can be opened which makes filling unusual sized container easier. Would I purchase this again: NO. I may purchase from the company depending on how long this dispenser lasts, but NO I would NEVER purchase this specific model again and I do not recommend it. You've been warned...

Im absolutely disappointed in this product this only lasted 2 years and thermostat went out completely it started with not dispensing cold water then no water of any temperature then we fixed it but it kept doing the same thing every couple days eventually it was dripping water everywhere also the room temperature dispenser since I got it was very weak and the unit was a bit noisy I had high hopes for this one 2 years really? Now I have to buy another one and don't say 2 years is a lot of time because it's not I had cheaper brands that lasted 6-7 years but I wanted nicer ... when I first bought this item I was so happy with it i actually bought two one for myself and one for my daughter hers hasn't went out to be fair I just hope that hers lasts because mine didn't

I will start out by saying the product was phenomenal for exactly one year and one week. No problems, worked great and maintained temps for all 3 water settings. I bought one in 2020 for my girlfriend at the time and that one is still working to this day. For this reason, I decided to get my parents one last Christmas. Ordered 12/22/22 and was delivered shortly after. This year, on New Year’s Day it broke. I would have no problem with the inconvenience of it breaking, obviously I would expect it to last more than one year and I would assume the companies target wasn’t just 1 year of use. The issue arose when my dad called the number on the machine for when you have issues. They told him that since it had been 1 year and 1 week since he got the product, it was outside of the 1 year warranty and they couldn’t help him with a replacement. If I was someone looking into buying one now, I would want to know if the company is going to be reasonable and back up their product for a healthy length of time. I don’t feel 1 year and 1 week for an appliance is a reasonable life span, and if you agree, then I wouldn’t recommend going with this company unfortunately. I feel it would’ve been more appropriate from a reasonable customer service standpoint for them to understand it was within a short enough window that it would be appropriate to replace.

Water doesn't cool, only hot and room. Hot is very hot which is great. Sent it for repairs and was told it's a compressor issue which is another AED 650 all in all. Really nice water cooler, sad that it doesn't actually cool water.

Received with wrong power supply 110V/60hz which is not suitable for Europe! Quality looks good in general and customer service team are very good.

Inoltre alcune parti in plastica sono rotte. Ho provato a restituirlo due volte. E ogni volta bisogna pagare la spedizione negli Stati Uniti. Ma entrambe le volte la merce mi è stata restituita dalla dogana. In conclusione, merce rotta. Meno il prezzo. Meno 250€ per la spedizione. Finalmente l'ho inserito. Ha funzionato per due giorni. Ed è esploso. Fate attenzione quando acquistate questo prodotto per l'Europa. Non lo consiglio!
