Logitech G440 Hard Gaming Mouse pad vs Steelseries hard gaming mouse pad
This is a great mouse pad. Slightly larger than my S&S Steelseries hard mouse pad that it replaced. It measures 13 3/8 in by 11 in. (give or take a 1/32 in). It is a hard plastic pad not a cloth pad (which I HATE). The size is plenty large enough for gaming. The back side has a powder blue rubber pad the same size which is glued to it. It really stays in place which was one problem I had with the Steelseries pad which only has little dribbles of rubber randomly dropped on the back side. I would periodically have to wash it off so it would start gripping properly again. It's too early to tell (just got it today) but I don't think I will have the same problem with the G440. At least not as often or as bad. For thickness the G440 is about twice as thick as the Steelseries hard pad but this was not a problem for me at least since it is still thinner than cloth pads I've tried (including the Steelseries QCK/QCK+ pads, though they are close). Pro's: Good for gaming especially. Nice larger than average size but doesn't take over your whole desk. Seriously smooth gliding surface for mousing over. Tracking is precise and doesn't cause skipping. Stays put since the rubber on the bottom side takes up the whole bottom surface. Con's: The edges are too sharp out of the box. Left as is they will irritate your wrist. This should have been dealt with at the factory but see note later on for fixing this. Subjective: Slightly thicker than the S&S Steelseries hard mouse pad which may be good or bad depending on your preferences. Note: The sharp edge is easily dealt with by simply taking an emery board for doing fingernails (your wife or girl friend probably has several just lying around) and carefully removing the sharp bottom edge where your wrist slides back and forth. I used one of the black ones that measure about 3/4 in. wide and 7 in. long and it worked perfectly. You only have to round it off very slightly to remove the sharpness and then you're set. A minute or two max. and you're done. Only do a little at a time then test it and repeat if necessary. Depending on the "newness" of the emery board you may want to use the finer side. If an older board then the rougher side may work better.

Best hard pad for me to date, better than other popular said hard pads
This hard mouse pad replaced my all time favorite SS 4hd, which i used exclusively for around 5 yrs and have many of them. It's way slicker than others which is my skillful playstyle and glides real easily and the best of them all. I'm a versatile fps competitive player and currently have a 9.05k/d ratio in Battlefield 1. I'm pairing it with some hotline games mouse skates with a g pro. Just make sure to wash it after you get it, maybe let it dry first out of the box and then wash later because the coating on it will stick to your mouse feet which can ruin them. I found that the trick to utilizing this mouse pad was to wash it, then all the coating goes away and it becomes super slick like no other. Did not use it for 1 mo after i bought it because i didn't wash it first and it ruined my mouse skates. After though, it is now my favorite pad and will not use anything else for games. Wish i could buy more for other computer but too expensive. Edit: 1/22/22 Switched back to steel series 4hd though it is not being sold anymore. Ss 4hd just glides better when holding down mouse buttons

Smooth and Precise Performance
The Logitech G440 Hard Gaming Mouse Pad delivers a very smooth, fast surface that makes mouse movements feel precise and responsive, especially for gaming. Tracking is consistent, and the rubber base keeps the pad firmly in place during intense sessions. It also feels durable and is much easier to clean than cloth pads. The only drawback is that the hard surface can be a bit noisy and may wear down mouse feet faster over time. It’s also slightly less comfortable if you rest your wrist on it for long periods, but overall it’s a great option for speed-focused gamers.

Excellent for 6 months of heavy use, then gets a little rough.
Pros: The best hard mouse pad I've ever used. The mouse just glides along the pad flawlessly, I regret not having purchased one years earlier. If you are intent on having pinpoint accuracy and speed, you've got to use a hard mouse pad. Cons: They wear out after 6-12 months of heavy use. It's plastic. When you drag a mouse over plastic in the same spots for hundreds of hours, it won't have the same smooth feeling indefinitely. It will always "work", but you'll notice in games when you're moving your aim across the screen it will have rough spots where you can feel the drag, and other spots where the cursor will stop briefly and then continue as you move the mouse. Extremely annoying when you are in a competitive FPS and need consistency. That being said, computer gaming is an expensive hobby anyways. The ever evolving hardware, game requirements, etc. If I've got to spend a $50/year replacing mouse pads, to enjoy the absolute best performance, than so be it. I'd rather buy this product twice a year than to go back to a cloth pad that wears my wrist down from dragging it across the cloth, and feeling the constant resistance on my mouse.

Incredible upgrade over cloth mouse
The fashionable trend in gaming is to have enormous XXXXXL cloth mouse mats which not only smell bad, but are nearly impossible to fully clean, and they run around $40+ for a quality mat from companies such as glorious PC gaming. I used to buy these and thought they were great. But I bought one of these to give a hard surface mousepad a try. And boy can I tell you this is far better than anything I've used before. The texture on the surface took some getting used to. At first I thought that it was lumpy and bumpy and almost decided to return it and go back to cloth pads. But it began to smooth out after a few hours and was perfectly worn in within a couple days. It genuinely feels much better than cloth for moving your mouse around. When it comes time to clean it, you just brush the thing off with your hand over a trash can and you're good to go. I've had this mousepad for about two months now and it still looks like I just took it out of its packaging. There's a review I've seen here on Amazon where some guy was complaining about the durability and the mousepad looks like it went through a meat grinder, absolutely no idea what they did to it and it's hilarious. After two years I'll come back with a picture from how it's held up, but I'm guessing that it'll look brand new considering I don't plan on using it to play fetch with any dogs.

I will Miss this product!! Over 2-years of use
I bought this back in April 2018 and I loved it. I needed a mouse pad and I like the dense ones. This one is real firm when flat on a surface, but it's relatively flimsy when you pick it up so putting it in a bag for commute won't be a hassle. The base has excellent grip and it barely moves. Do note if you move your entire arm and drag your wrist across it, the mousepad WILL move a tiny bit of course, as any surface would. And the edges of the mouse pad didn't experience any decay what so ever. Again, this is all over 2.5 years. Anyone who says it's not durable or doesn't hold up must have used their parent's money to buy it and doesn't know how to value their own assets. It has always stayed slick and hours of computer use. I rarely clean it and it looks fantastic and holds an really good shine. It never caused any issues with DPI and the response is peak. It's also incredibly easy to clean. Spill food or soda on it? Comes right off. I've used clorox wipes instead of just water & a rag and it didn't alter the color or quality at all. The reason I am getting rid of it is I am looking to free up space on my work surface. This is a large mouse pad (about 13.5" wide x 11" tall. The thickness is like 1/16th of an inch (roughly). With my Razor Adder mouse and my preferred DPI settings, I barely move my hand, using maybe a quarter of the space in most situations. I tried to cut it with a sharp pair of scissors.. BIG NO NO. The gloss material on the top bubbled and lifted off of the mid-material like a bad tint job on a car window. If you wanted to trim this thing down, it's not going to happen without ruining it. I guess that's a good thing as it's to show how well built the ridges are. I would buy another one if they offered a smaller size, but that doesn't seem to be the case. 5/5 would recommend this product.

11% improvement after 30 minutes
Performance: Initially I was worried I'd messed up. This thing was so frictionless compared to any of my other mouse pads that I didn't think I'd be able to adjust. Played a quick round of Aimlab which confirmed my suspicion, but I decided to give it a go. After playing some casual shooters for about half an hour, I tried another Aimlab test, and ended up with an 11% improvement over my best score to date, even though I'm definitely still getting used to it. Size: This thing is plenty big for low dpi users. I reduced mine by about half just to mess around and had plenty of real estate to hit 180 shots. Fortunately, it's also sensitive enough to use at a high dpi for twitch shooters like KF2 and Doom. Comfort If I had one complaint, I would say that out of the box the edges were pretty sharp. It feels like it was punched upwards rather than down, leaving a bit of a sharp lip on the edge that you can easily feel with your fingernail (or wrist). If you rest your wrist on the edge of your mousepad, this will be immediately uncomfortable. It's an easy fix with about 20 seconds of work with sandpaper or a stone, but I feel it needs to be mentioned. Other than that, the surface is not rough and despite being rigid, I don't really notice a difference after several consecutive hours of use. Summary: If you're shopping around for a fast mouse pad, and even boutique cloth pads still feel like they're slowing you down, pull the trigger on this. This is the best, fastest mouse pad I have ever used and I don't see switching back any time soon. I'm about to buy a second one for the office.

Hard surface pad for the win.
Initially I picked up a G240 from somewhere else, like another review here the G240 suffered from corner raise due to the way the G logo was stamped on the top. So I opted to pick up this G440 hard mouse pad, wow what a difference, so glad I did. Reminds me of my old Razer hard surface pad only better. The top material works really well the mouse skates. The mice glide effortlessly across the surface top. I had to turn down the sensitivity on my gaming mouse because I was overshooting the target. Precision on this pad is extremely good. This is nothing like my old Corsair cloth mouse pad. I tried a cloth pad for a while and cloth mouse pads are hype, that is all, they are one of those things where you hear great things about them and you are weary because you know better, but because of the positive reviews you go out and get one. Only to find some time later that your instincts were right and you soon realise you were lied to about cloth mouse pads. A cloth pad is ok at best, it doesn't provide the traction you get with hard surface pads like this here G240. After a while of using a cloth pad you might spill a beer, and then spill a pop, and maybe you are sweating a bit while gaming and the cloth pad starts absorbing all these liquids. Over time I started to notice that my cloth pad started accumulating dirt a lot easier and became harder to clean. Mice also started to get more resistance gliding on the cloth surface after a while. This is due to the porous nature of cloth it will absorb dust, dirts, and liquid. Hard surface pads don't have this issue and are way easier to clean the G440 is where it's at. Don't hesitate get the G440 pad, it is really good. I thought it would have been too small, but the size is perfect. I also didn't believe the reviews on the G440 that is was amazin, etc. Well it's pretty close to amazing. I am a large guy and do not have a problem with the edges being sharp like some people have described. In fact my wrist lifts perfectly over the edge and it's a non issue for me. This pad is really good, get it now.
