The powder and the scent is strong but I guess that makes it more effective. Overall, I think it served its purpose.

I love this collar for Ollie Nugget. It's a great value and doesn't have an especially strong smell unless you are right up to it. He has had bad reactions to other natural ingredient flea colors and had fleas! This one is gentle on him and highly effective and lasts! I highly recommend. You can even subscribe and save this item. The size is great as you can put on a significantly large animal and have enough. I cut several inches off to size it properly around me doggo's neck. It's especially easy to use.

I switched to adams flea and tick collars about 3 years ago. I swore id never change and never buy a different one, ever again. Why is below. I put the one I bought and have used since in the pictures. I'm not sure if the timing of when I went to buy it was bad with spring starting but I couldn't find it anywhere. Walmart was where I always got it. I went to every Walmart in a 45 mile radius, couldn't find it. Amazon, said it was currently unavailable. This was the cloest I could find, the only difference was it was red not blue, and it said 'small dog' not 'all dogs'. THIS IS THE WORST COLLAR I HAVE EVER BOUGHT! It also smells horrible, all flea/tick collars smell weird when you first open and stretch them but this one smells horrible and after over a week of use still smells horrible and strong horrible not just a little horrible. I will say it did "strech to activate" much easier then others and the normal adams I use. However with how easy it was to use and activate, it makes me wonder if thats part of why it works so bad. I thought the ones that made him have diaherra were bad, atleast those protected him against lymes diease and mostly prevented the ticks. The blue adams collar in the photos, literally protected him and didnt make him sick. Same brand, same type of collar, just a different color and different 'sized' dog. I figured it had to be the next best thing. In the 2ish weeks hes had it on, I've found 16 to 18 ticks on him. 7-9 were crawling up his legs so they hadn't attached thankfully. The other 9-10 were attached, 6 of those attached were IMPOSSIBLE to get off him. His skin has never been tough or hard to pull ticks off. Never has part of a tick that was embedded stuck in his skin. The 6 that were impossible to get off, half the head was stuck in him. 4 of them I tried so hard to pull off that the tick was dead but the carcass was still there, embedded and hanging out. The 2 that just the heads remained, I had to rip off in pieces, he had 4 little bald spots from the pulling. I have tick pull tools, I have medical office tweezers in 6 sizes, nothing worked. Adams, other people, can try and say its the not collar but in prior years before I switched to the blue adams collar, he had ticks that were embedded and fully engourged My 22 pound boston terrier all the sudden developed a severe sensitivity to any and almost all collars. We had used the same ones for most of his life. I assume they changed the formula or something because they suddenly made him sick. The problem was it took me about 2.5 months to figure out it was a flea/tick collar issue. I drove my self nuts trying to figure out why he suddenly was having severe stomach issues. I changed his food to an expensive senstive stomach food, which helped a little so I thought it would be fine in a week or so, it never got any better then it did at start. I changed his water to a different filtered water, bottled water, sink filters, water treatment filters, I changed his food bowls, his water bowls, I changed his treats, literally anything I could think of. Obviously I brought him to the vet, spent hundreds on tests and xrays, nothing, healthy as could be. Around the 2.5 month mark I was talking to my mom and for whatever reason it popped in my head that this started around the same time I put his new flea and tick collar on. I immediately took it off, went and bought a new one, different brand, everything, again got a little better but not much. They gave me what I needed to be convinced it was the collar. If I could give zero stars I would. If I coukd return it and get a refund I would, if I could just return it and have them send a new one thats better or just take it.
