How essential is this stuff? I've had cichlids in multiple tanks over the past 8 years and have never added salt and I have healthy breeding fish.
I've read that activated carbon can remove minerals and metals. Would using carbon just remove all of the elements of the salt?
I know with salt water the salt remains in the water when it evaporates, do I add more of this salt when adding more water
