The box claims1 to 5. Plays great solo and I would think 4 players would be my limit of players.

There is no danger in handling these miniatures. As long as you aren't burning them or eating them, you'll be safe.

How is the plastic used for the miniatures in this game? Is it hard, like Games Workshop uses, or soft and pliable, like a lot of boardgame figures?

They are quality minis. After a coat of paint and some varnish they are spectacular.
