Do I have to purchase a charger separately.

No, the helicopter comes with a USB charger that you can simply plug into your computer(or outlet if you have a proper converter.) Charge time is pretty quick, takes maybe 15 or 20 minutes to charge. The book doesn't explain it very well, but what you want to do is wait for the light on the USB charger to stay a solid red, that signifies a full charge I believe.

gyroscope seems to be freaking out, it takes off and goes all over the place. Any fixes for this? Everything seems to be intact on the unit.

First, what other wireless systems are operating within range of the S107; next, when the S107 acts up, are you and the controller beyond S107's range; check for weak, almost consumed power sources; be certain couplings are snug and not loose. Oh, I do not operate any of my S107 models outdoors.

3 channels. Up/down, left/right, forward/backward. Remote has two frequencies A/B.
