Normally I am not an ice-user, but this summer has been brutal. My family buys bags of ice at least once a week, but I have found the cubes to be too large, and they tend to stick together, causing everyone to have to smack them with something akin to a hammer to break them apart or, their favorite, drop the bag repeatedly on the ground to break them apart. This cube maker is so much cleaner (and quieter) and the cubes are just the perfect size. The container holds to tray-fulls of the cubes so when you get low, you are always making more in the silicone top part. I am not used to using silicone trays, so my only fumble is getting used to turning the thing over and accurately punching the cubes into the tray. But that's my problem, not the manufacturer. The other downside (if you call it one) is the lid is not a snap-on type that locks into place. I don't see how they can really lock a lid into place on the silicon tray holding the cubes, so no fault there. Also, when the silicone cube part is not on the plastic holder, the lid just sits on top -- no locking of the lid on the bottom either. But, unless the whole contraption is going to be rocking around your freezer, I don't see the need for the top to lock on in the first place. Sometimes the lid did frost over when I pulled it out of the freezer and the frost would get in the way of the lid closing tightly, but that's because my freezer is on "arctic circle" so I just scrape off the frost and have no further problems. The cubes come out even and are the perfect size to fit in any container. I even put them in my tall "Entertainment Park" drink cups (cough cough Seaworld cough cough) with the long straw and they fit fine. The larger bagged cubes would sometimes be too clumped together to fit in the narrow opening. The little scoop they give with this item holds three cubes in a row (you could scoop more, but I am not a digger, so three at a time worked just fine for me). So far, so good. The family can spend their money and bang their bag of ice on the ground all they want. I will stick with this guy and make my own small, perfectly square cubes.

I loved this ice cube tray! I gave the product four stars because it snapped in half after two years of use, although to be fair I shouldn't have expected it to last forever. I prefer this style of tray over the similar silicone-style insert, because the ice is much easier to remove. The cover fits snuggly while keeping particles out of the ice. Overall, this was a great product while it lasted.

I rent, so I don't have the option of changing my very old fridge. Thus, I'm stuck using ice cube trays in a shelf of my freezer. I wanted something that could make more cubes and store some while making more. This tray fits the bill! The lid doesn't snap in place, so it's not good for turning sideways, but otherwise it's a great way to keep food bits and smells out of the ice. It also means you can make ice ANYWHERE in your freezer... Just pop the lid on and place other items on top. That's a game changer if you have limited freezer space. It's the right height to fit standard ice cube shelf, should fit just fine on a side by side freezer shelf (if you'd like to use this for freezing other liquid) and holds a whole trays worth of ice under the tray so that's two trays of ice at a time. It's a great little tray... Honestly couldn't ask for more and the price is great. I can see using just the silicone tray for molding other stuff like chocolate and it cleans up easy. Really the only down side is the lid not snapping into place, though I just keep it up on a shelf. If you needed to keep it sideways, a bit of making take should hold it fine. Highly recommended!

I really really wanted to like this. Our ice maker broke and I wanted it simply for my toddler cups as they are the only ones who like ice in their water mostly! It’s nice that it’s not just open trays to try and balance BUT once there’s ice in it it’s very hard to put the nice trays filled and back in so where do they go? U really can’t have ice, the shovel and the loaded soon to be ice trays in at once. It’s hard for the water to not spill as u try to put them in and close the lid if there’s even half or quarter of ice in container. Then the lid also gets very icy and sometimes has frozen shut. The ice isn’t as easy to drop out like they make it seem- it’s just a little easier because they’re not big ice cubes. Anyways - might be good for a single person with a very empty freezer whose life is calm and they’re organized but for an average family I don’t recommend.

I got it to go in a minifridge and luckily the tray and lid fits but the tub that holds ice under it won't so have to put that in the bigger freezer if I want to store ice elsewhere but I live in a house with other people so I use the mini fridge for certain things and I am a germ freak so if I know someone touched the ice tray without washing hands I don't usually want that ice I am picky like that I guess but anyway I do like this tray and just wish the bottom tub part of it came with a lid also but atleast the tray part came with a lid. Also when you break up the tray some to get the ice out it kind of crushes the ice on top a bit if you overfill a little which I like bc I like crushed ice and If you put in a good stainless steel mug with a lid the ice even the smaller than normal cubes will last a good few hrs or so it did for me anyway. I am considering ordering another soon bc I have looked all over for an ice tray that I really love and this one fit the bill for me so I may order another just to save incase this one gets damaged or something bc I love how it makes smaller than normal sized cubes and a bunch of them and the tray part seems pretty well made and not real cheap also like a thicker plastic. Very happy with this purchase:)

LOVE love love this tray so far! Super convenient and easy to use! We have a side by side fridge/freezer with limited space on the freezer side. This is just compact enough that I can store it on a shelf and store something (light) on top of it. Previous users left a smell in the freezer so I love that this has a lid! It’s like a buffed up ice tray! Storage underneath, lid up top and a try that fits right in between. It is important to keep in mind that the tray is SILICONE (which I also love) therefore in order for the lid to always sit flush be sure to not overfill the tray. This causes a slight dip in the tray so the lid won’t sit flush around the tray. Definitely worth the money paid!

I LOVE THIS ICE TRAY. I live in a NY apartment. Know what that means? I’ll tell you- TINY FRIDGE which means EVEN TINIER FREEZER. For two years I wasted my time with dollar store ice trays that cracked, were annoying to clean and annoying to pop the ice out. I was hesitant to get this one at first because I used to have a silicone/hard plastic combo ice tray and it was even worse than the dollar store ones. I took a chance on this bc the reviews were good. LET ME TELL YOU. no need to shuffle multiple ice trays around with water splashing all over the place. The container fits about two trays of ice so it’s easy to have a rotation going. I actually keep the silicone ice tray on top of the lid, with the lid on the container- this allows for more room in the container for ready made ice. Every time I take ice out of the container, the tray that’s been freezing goes in. AND THE CUBES ARE SO EASY TO POP OUT. dare I say, I sort of look forward to using this ice tray... yes. I said it. And I love that they’re smaller than the normal cube. It’s a space saver and all around I’m really really pleased. YAY!
