Hello Jestine, thank you for your question regarding our Flea and Tick Shampoo and Hot Spot and Itch Relief Medicated Conditioner. There should be no interaction between the two products. For maximum parasite control, we recommend to allow Flea and Tick Shampoo to remain in contact with skin for five to ten minutes before rinsing. Then, you can apply the conditioner and allow it to remain on pet for 5 minutes. Rinse well. In case your dog has any reaction to the combination of these products, please contact your veterinarian. The instructions say ferrets, but can this be used on Guinea Pigs also?

We recommend this product is safe for use on dogs, cats, ferrets and horses over 12 weeks.

How long, after bathing my dog with the shampoo, do I have to wait to apply frontline?

Ignore all the other answers. Any vet will tell you to wait 2-4 days after a bath. The most common flea medicine is brought upon a dog’s skin with the help of a pipette. Once this action is fulfilled, the treatment works via the layers of fat and tallow on the dog’s skin and that’s precisely why you can’t bathe a dog right before or after giving it the flea treatment. Concretely, when you wash your dog, you slightly damage these layers. As a result, flea medicine can’t do its work like it’s supposed to and that’s something to avoid at all costs. So, it’s better to be safe than sorry and to just wait a little while (at least 48 hours) after washing your dog before you give it the flea medicine
