Absolutely great light weight ladder
Polder Ultra light Aluminum 5-Step Ladder After having back surgery late last winter, and then falling through a very pricey, high end mail order catalog wooden designer ladder when putting Christmas decorations away, less than 60 days post op, I KNEW it was time to find a good, light weight, safe ladder, which wouldn't kill me. This ladder is IT!! I can lift this ladder with one hand, its that light weight. It sits solidly on all four feet, and has a perfect size step to it. If you are one of the many, who are height challenged, (I am 5'1"), and are always getting a ladder to do day to day home maintenance, I can assure you, you will love this ladder. This ladder is tall and won't fit under shelves for storage, but it has a very slim profile & still stores quite well. I have told all my family members that this ladder is "hands off" to them and is mine, and mine only. (Not as selfish as it sounds, but all my ladders eventually end up in the horse stables or the garage, filthy), and this ladder has a permanent place INSIDE my house. I also am an OSHA Outreach trainer for construction, so I did review the safety features of this ladder and found it to be more than adequately built for support when opened. (Of course, you must follow the weight limits for each ladder and all ladders are rated for load weight!) If you don't know the proper way to climb a ladder, then learn. It is always a three point connection, 2 hands, 1 foot, or 2 feet 1 hand when climbing. NO TOOL is ever completely safe if the owner/operator does not know how to use it correctly. Anyway, I really do love this ladder; it met all my requirements and then some, great price, (I paid 4 times as much for the high end mail order catalog ladder, plus the shipping) and is so very easy for me to use AND it allows me to take much better care of my back.

Polder 3-Step Ladder Perfect for Apartment Dwellers
Bought this little gem 2 years ago and have been meaning to write this review. First the disclaimer: Nobody loves the idea of having to drag out a ladder to reach something they need. It would be great if everything could be stored just an arm's length away. But if you live in an apartment, you know that sometimes the only storage available is on upper shelves and high-mounted cabinets. What a pain to ever have to get something from those places...especially on an almost daily basis. For years I've used a folding step stool that pinched me every time I closed it back up. And the feet jut out too far, so that I trip over them on the way down. But you know how it is...you put up with stuff beyond being sick and tired. I finally wised up and into my life came this Polder 3-step aluminum ladder. I no longer put off or avoid altogether retrieving items from on high. I have that reflexive "ick" at first and then I remember how simple it has become for me to grab stuff from upper levels. The ladder is super light. I can carry it in one hand. I easily mounted it on a kitchen wall - just two jutting nails hold it up beautifully. It folds quite flat and is unobtrusive. I specifically chose it because of its very long handle. Even from the third step I can reach down and get some support from the handle. And I feel secure climbing it...no wobbles or teeters, very solid for such a lightweight. If I need a lightbulb or a container for leftovers, I whip the Polder off the wall, open it, climb, get said item, climb back down, fold and hang back on the wall all in a matter of 30 seconds. And I don't feel I've done anything strenuous. I'm enthused! So there you have it. Pick one up. You won't be sorry!

Useful, Safe, and Attractive
Woodgrain color is beautiful! Ladder is lightweight--perfect for seniors and perfect for hanging on a large hook for convenience sake. With our new high kitchen cabinets, the ladder is safe with its high front handle for better balance.

Great ladder, light but higher than a step ladder
Great ladder, light but higher than a step ladder. I have several small step ladders and this is my go to. The only question I might have is how long will it last

Best step ladder
Purchased after using @ a clients home. Best step ladder especially for older people who need more stability and much lighter, it will also stand on its own w/out having to lean. *great job whom ever made it! And itโs nice looking, well made

Perfect for its Uses
We had floor-to-ceiling shelves put into out pantry and our principal closet. Problem is, we have 12 foot ceilings. We also had a two-step and a three-step stepstool, neither tall enough to reach the top couple of shelves, and both heavier than a boat anchor. Decided not to plan on bringing in one of the ladders whenever we needed to take something down, or put something up. The lightest ladder is heavier than TWO boat anchors. We got one of these to try in the pantry. It's sturdy, it's light-weight, and the steps are large enough to generate a feeling of security. We could reach the shelves easily. It was so good, we bought another one so that we could keep one in the closet as well. Folds up nicely for compact storage, folds and unfolds easily, Solid even when standing at or near the top. Nice to find something that is this good at what's it's supposed to do.

Polder vs Cosco
This is very lightweight. My wife can easily carry this around. The insteps are quite deeps. When you are barefoot, it is very comfortable to stand for a long time, since you are standing on the entire step. Each step is over 5 inches deep. The top step is over 9 1/2 inches deep. Yes, I stand all the time on the top step all the time and feel safe. I use the top handle to balance. I thought the bottom grips were not made as well since they were a type of plastic. It did seem to "slip" slightly the first time I used it, but it seem more "grippy" now with use. I have not had any "slips" other than the first few times I used it. I also have the cosco 4 1/5 foot tall step ladder. The Cosco is also a great ladder. Very light. The grips on the bottom are better. It is made of rubber. The steps are not as comfortable to stand on since they are only 3 inches deep. Also the being on top step is not as secure as the Polder, since the handle is shorter. I think both make great ladders. If I had to choose, I would pick the Polder, b/c of the secure top step and deeper more comfortable steps.

light and easy to use
I am a small person (5ft1" and 125 lbs) and while I purchased this for light step stool duties, it has it's limits. I was attracted to the high handle and am still happy with that - just something about that extra security of having something to hold onto once up in the air! I wanted something that was a bit higher than the step stool I currently had, and this fits that need - I feel perfectly comfortable on the top step. My drawbacks? The width of this is very narrow - the measurement was accurate in the description - but I really notice it while stepping up and down. The two bottom steps are also very narrow - not at all comfortable for anything more than a quick reach for something. While I was wanting light weight...... this is on the border of being too light. It is made sturdy, I just don't know if anyone much larger than I am would feel safe on it. I will keep it, it's fine for reaching something on the top shelf, light enough I can take it to the basement or garage as needed, but will keep my eyes open for something a little larger and a bit more bulk to it.

This is a great step ladder for my kitchen
This is a great step ladder for my kitchen. The best feature of this is that it is so light in weight that I loved it. I recommend this to all those people who have cabinets up to the 10 feet ceiling in the kitchen.
