I bought this gate to replace one from a different brand that my Lab had broken the handle on (smart dog, she figured out how to open the last gate). This gate was about 5 inches shorter than the last one we had which was a concern because when my dog gets excited, she tries to jump the gate and actually gets some pretty good height. So far, this gate has been fine for her height-wise and we havnt had any issues with her jumping over, getting hurt, etc. This was the tallest option that I found for narrow doorways (pre 1900s house, iykyk) and I was very disappointed that it didn't seem to come in a white option. The white option that I saw was an inch too wide for what would fit my home. I may have gotten mixed up with another gate since I was looking at so many at once, but I had thought that this gate said you could move the gate in whatever direction that you wish. This is not the case, it looks like you might be able to switch the direction but there is a little stopper at the bottom so even if you can change which way it opens into, you're stuck with what you choose- you can't have it set to just open it in whatever direction you want at any given time. Overall, this is a well made gate. It's all metal and feels very sturdy. I love the arch in the design and it was relatively easy to install. Still bummed that I couldn't get it in white.

This gate made me super happy. Excellent material & construction and it just works exactly like it should. It looks and feels like serious adult quality, not a struggling college student's haphazard desperate last minute solution. This is the kind of thing you'd find in the proud suburban home of an approaching-retirement pyramid marketing guru who pours all her effort into maintaining appearances but needed to put a gate between her rooms. If it's good enough for her, it's good enough for me, because this lady knows how to stage a house. This extends beyond mere aesthetics & smart install. It is very good quality, thick metal, and not needlessly heavy but still very sturdy, so a very strong dog or extremely muscular baby can be imprisoned in it as long as needed or as benevolent conscience will allow. For me, this is about 5 minutes while I pet my dog-hating cats, or up to an hour while said cats eat their wet dins and then perform a sadistic burlesque show for my sad dog to demonstrate exactly how much she can't possibly eat them behind the gate, no matter how much outrageous smack they talk. P.S. if you pull it out of the box and it seems like the gate is crooked, that is normal and okay. It's sort of built to favor one side for the sake of physics, so that when you set it up in the doorway, it has enough pressure to stay shut. No Damage to Home: It's fine on walls - no damage whatsoever. Have moved it around a few times & it's great. Ease of Install: I'm crippled at the moment, and still managed to install it myself from a wheelchair. It is a little heavy, and I have some use of my feet so that helped, but my point is that most people should be able to install it without too much trouble. I didn't use the instructions, but it did come with them and they seemed fine.

Very sturdy and well made gate for keeping pets safe. Easy to set up and has a secure locking mechanism that unlocks with just a push of your thumb. Highly recommend.

I’ve had this gate for a while now, it’s nice to have something installed into the wall and easy to get through to keep my puppy out of trouble. It’s exactly what I needed and the only two criticisms I have that is keeping it from being a 5 star purchase are.. - I don’t know if this would be a great choice for infant safety because wow it’s loud and sounds like the hinges need some oil already after less than a year of use. When you come through this gate you cannot be stealthy so I assume it would wake a sleeping baby. - When I first purchased the gate my puppy was having accidents right near the gate and the urine seeped through the bottom which is flush with the floor, making it difficult to clean. I wish the bottom had a small gap between the floor and the gate to avoid this and make for easy cleanup. She’s potty trained now so that’s not an issue anymore but it’s something to consider. Overall it was quick to install, looks nice and does what I need it to. I recommend it

Delivered today, installed in about 10 minutes max. NOTE: Before buying - WATCH THE VIDEO at the bottom of the ad/page. This will show how easy this gate is and if you follow it, you will have ZERO problems or gripes! The gate is nice looking, very sturdy, latches well, and is so easy to install in a door frame. I did not need the side cups. Use a tape measure and even up the side spaces, then it looks great. Great adjusting screws on both sides and I love the open9ing mechanism. To open you slide the top button, raise the gate a little, and swing open the gate... reverse to close. The bad reviews I read were fully from install errors - this is a well-engineered product and works GREAT! JUST WATCH THE VIDEO - you'll thank me, and have an easy install and a great working gate. *** I just ordered a second gate***

This is an absolutely amazing gate. I have purchased three!! I have mobility problems and the fact that it has a gate that I don't have to hurdle over is a huge plus as I am no Maureen Caird. For those who don't know her, she won that event at the Olympics. Every other gate I had forced me to attempt that jump but I never made it and broke the gate and hurt some very sensitive areas in the process. Me, I can't get over it if I stand on a stool...nor can my two-year-old great-grandchild. I am thrilled as I, an Italian grandmother, loves to see her little guy whenever. Prior to the arrival of the gates, his mom wouldn't allow him to come here as I couldn't contain him and he ran up the stairs laughing at my attempts to get him down. Finally, a product that has made my life easier, allowed me to see my grandson more often and still be able to get into the kitchen to stir the gravy. Presently, I think he's somewhere attempting to reconstruct the gates so he can figure out how they work. I'm not worried, he is safe...I have the gates up! The jokes on him...these are amazing, worth every penny and actually pretty. OK so maybe you won't think they're pretty but I still have plastic slipcovers....you get it, right? But now I have this baby and couldn't be happier. Buy them, you'll like them.

We have installed this because we have two young children and two cats in the house and want to keep them out of our bedroom without having to keep the door closed. Our 3 year old grandson hasn't figured out how to open it, so that's a plus. The installation was a bit tricky because of the way our door frame is made. My husband had to install these small pieces pieces of wood to make a space large enough to fit behind the circular mounting pads that push up against the door frame. You will need a flat spot that is 1 3/4" for each of the 4 mounting pads. It is nice looking seems like it will hold up over time. It can be opened with one hand and then shut gently with a little push. Tall enough to keep kids and the cat's out. I would recommend this as a nice looking alternative to those wooden ones that have to be set up over and over again and need you to step over them. I really like that it has an opening to walk through.

Nice quality gate. I like that it is extra tall. Super durable. Just have to install correctly and it will work properly. For all the people who said it doesn't latch because of a gap it is because they didn't tighten it enough. If you can't tighten it enough and the bolts are almost all the way out, that is when you use the extended bar. The gate works correctly if installed correctly

Easy in and out. Sturdy and prevents our 10 lbs puppy from breaking free

It is very study which makes you feel really safe.
