Whats the api or sdk?

I don’t know what you mean by this, but this reader is identical to the one sold by Adafruit. You can follow their tutorial on their website. They have a recommended library that works well too. Pretty sure they have a datasheet on their website too. Reading and saving fingerprints is pretty simple on Arduino. The one thing their tutorial doesn’t cover is how to export fingerprint profiles off of the sensor to move it onto another one. I made a simple door access system with these and it would be helpful if I could automatically sync profiles with other fingerprint terminals. Thats the only thing I haven’t figured out yet. The datasheet implies this possible though.

Can this be used to control a magnetic lock, such as a standalone unit? If so how was your wire?

No, it would require a microprocessor board to program and to operate the lock
