SHIMANO Deore M525-A 8/9-Speed Freehub Body Does Not Include Seal Fixing

The old one started not working when cold, which was a problem when trying to get one last ride in before the storm hit. This one has worked well in all temperatures.

It is an original new Shimano Deore FH-M525A freewheel body. The seller, 365cycles, is a real professional. They carry authentic quality products, provide contact email and phone for support, and even include a return label with their package.

Used this to upgrade my older wheelset off my 90’s Stumpjumper. You will need at least a 10mm Allen wrench to remove the hub. Also it doesn’t come with ball bearings and a dust cap. I took them off the hub that I was replacing so it wasn’t a big deal to me. One surprise was that it actually fits up to a 12speed HG cassette.

Didn’t include the seal as stated. Just swapped over the old seal from old free hub body. xt fh-m756 Hub.

I received this in factory sealed packaging. Note that it doesn’t come with the drive side bearing dust cover. You’ll need to reuse your old one. Which requires careful removal from your old. This is not an easy task. The dust cover is thin gauge stamped sheet metal and deforms very easily. I recommend passing this up unless you can dedicate the time to the dust cover issue. I ended up returning it and getting the model that has it already installed. Otherwise, the unit spun well and appeared to be high quality.

Freehub works great, however no dust cap is included so you’ll need to reuse your old cap or purchase another one separately.

used to repair my 1990th MTB. Solid quality, installs easily, buy shimano, do not waste your money on the cheap stuff. the labor /time you spend on repairs is much greater than any savings.

Simple bolt on/ bolt off affair. My freehub bearing were *shot* and growling like mad. This was a direct replacement for my Shimano-branded hubs.
