Well designed dishing tool
This is well thought out and deigned dishing tool. 1.) You can use it with the wheel mounted in a Park TS series truing stand. 2.) You can use this with the tires still mounted to the rim. This is a big time saver, and important with tubeless when you don't want to remove the tire if you can avoid it. 3.) Its a sturdy tool, and does not deflect. 4.) You could use it with skewers still installed but its not a big deal to remove them, so I don't really see the use case for this. 5.) Its more than precise enough for most wheel building/truing as long as you aren't trying to go for extreme tolerances which require special setups anyway due to errors introduced by the tolerances of the hub, lock nuts, axle threads etc...

Works perfectly on 29" BOOST mountain bike wheels! Justifiable expense...
Yes, one can build and fabricate a tool to check dishing of a bike wheel, but I didn't want to take the time. The Amazon price for this Park Tool was justifiable to me, and it will be useful on any wheel I see myself working on for the foreseeable future, unlike my truing stand that is now obsolete with 29 PLUS wheels in BOOST hubs. The tool, as expected from Park Tools, is well made, easy to use, and holds its accuracy. I did add the "washer hack" as mentioned in other reviews to make the hand knob tightening not move the indicator bar. Park really should add another washer to fix that quirk... And the Park Tool blue looks nice on my garage shop wall.

Very nice tool
A really nice tool. Help a lot for having a good alignment of the wheel. Very simple to use. Highly recommended.

Pro tool that is invaluable when needed - just not always needed
This is a well constructed tool that works very well. As a 'Pro' wheel builder, you have to have this (or equivalent). However, a 'Pro Quality' truing stand can get so close that this becomes more of a 'final check'. I don't want to discount the value of this tool, but with other (high quality) wheel tools, this would be lower on my list of (higher-end) shop tools. No matter how accurate the wheel, I prefer to finfish the wheel in the actual bike.

Interesting design, but a necessity for wheel builders.
It's a little weird to use, but once you get used to it, it's great. The older alignment tool was a little easier to setup. It had a more precise indicator. But, so far, the way I've found to use this is to check that the blocks are hitting the rim, and not the tire. Push the center gauge part down into the concave part, and tap it over the axle of the wheel. Get it so that it clears the axle if you slide it back and forth over it. (Check for clearance) And then flip the wheel over and look at the back side. You should get a better reading doing it that way. It's a pretty awesome tool, and can save a lot of time and futzing with caliper adjustments. A must have for wheel builders.

Excellent dish tool
I successfully and quickly aligned my wheel using this Park tool. After having broken and replaced a spoke and then truing the wheel and reinstalling, it was rubbing a brake pad, very out of alignment. Bought this. The Park tool is easy to use, is very accurate, I'm glad I bought it. I tried buying a less expensive tool, but somehow Amazon shipped to the wrong location, then refunded my money. I then spent an extra $14 to buy this one and get quick delivery (Prime). I am very satisfied with this purchase and do not regret the extra $14. I own 5 bicycles and will be using the tool often.
