Scotch Rough Surface Painter's Tape 1.5 Inch Wide, 1 Roll

While this certainly is not the most economical painters tape on the market as the old adage goes you get in this life very much what you pay for! In the past I have struggled with other brands of masking tape especially on rough surfaces such as brickwork. The Scotch Rough Surface tape adheres perfectly to the roughest of surfaces and it sticks first time and does not lose adhesion like other inferior brands. What I also really like about the product is that when it comes time to remove the tape it comes off rapidly and does not leave any sticky residue. The other outstanding quality is that unlike the cheaper brands it does not disintegrate when tearing off strips and the size of the roll / width is perfect for most applications. Sure it costs more, but with this product you will consume a lot less tape than lessor brands which you have to apply extra to adhere to rough surfaces. Now I have disposed of all other brands of masking tape and only use this one as it is an absolute pleasure to work with.

Just what I needed to protect my fireplace brick while painting. Highly recommend!

Used this tape to hang up decorations outside for my son's birthday party. Worked beautifully! It stuck to our brick and wood without any trouble and held for days despite the humidity. Was also super easy to remove when the time came.

It works on concrete

We had a kitchen renovation that went awry, so we were without countertops for 6 months. We used plywood, didn't bother sanding the cut edges, just put this tape over them. Used it on "seams" and around the sink in case of splashes. It stuck really well, did not peel off under daily use of the kitchen. When we did peel it off the seams to move the plywood around, and finally to remove it for our real counters, it peeled off easily. I didn't see any residue.

Excellent for textured walls. First picture is this tape and the other one is standard tape. This was my second time ever painting and my first time I didn’t use this tape. It does stick more so I removed it sooner but the corner line with this on a textured wall is CRISP’

Good product

I purchased this tape while decorating my outdoor living space for a luau. I wanted to hang decorations on my brick walls and outdoor counter area without using anything permanent. At first, I planned to use Command™ Velcro strips, but after reading reviews, I found that they don't adhere well to brick. I also learned a helpful tip: apply painter's tape first, then attach regular Velcro to the tape. Regular painter's tape didn't stick to the brick very well, but this rough surface painter's tape did. I applied the tape, let it sit for a little while, and then attached the adhesive Velcro strips to the tape that came with the decor. It worked perfectly! Everything stayed in place throughout the party with no issues. I'm sure there are plenty of other uses for this tape, but if you're trying to hang decorations on brick, stone, or another rough surface without causing damage, I highly recommend using this as your base layer first. It worked great for me.
