Very effective. Very safe, tested by one of the most reputable independent labs in the business
I usually expect a protein supplement to suppress my appetite since it should produce a protein overload. Adequate amounts of protein are necessary to control appetite. Also fat will control appetite but that's a real long story and not relevant here unless you're making a smoothie and adding oil (fish oil healthiest, olive oil #2) Now I have medical issues and my nutritionist's advice is to eat 30 grams of protein in one meal. 30 grams of protein is 5 large eggs, 5 oz of skinless, boneless, defatted chicken, a 7-8 oz steak with the bone in... And for optimal healing I need to do this three times a day!! (don't be neglecting your veggies...) Who the heck can wrap their tummy around that much food? Three times a day???!! Now the nutritionists only recommend a diet like this if you are trying to heal from major trauma like significant surgeries. They only recommend this for about 4-8 weeks, it's not supposed to be permanent! There are...people (I call them ding dongs) who are trying to get 100 gms of protein every day apparently for the rest of their lives? No! No, no, no! You see, 30 gms of protein will initiate protein synthesis. Healing automatically requires your body replace damaged enzymes, cells, or tissues or muscle...all of which depend on active protein synthesis. So eating protein in one sitting (2 hours) will initiate protein synthesis. The effect lasts for about 24-48 hours but if you want to keep this running full steam...hence the forced feeding. But doctors will freak out over the vast quantities of animal protein (and therefore saturated fats too). Also any high protein diet like that is really, really bad for your kidneys, your heart, you better not have difficulties with digestion... If you are going to do this, please, please drink tons of water. A gallon a day makes most doctors sigh with relief if you must eat like this. It protects the kidneys... not sure about anything else... Meanwhile there is also the recommendation that a significant portion of your protein intake should come from vegetable sources. Well guess what tofu ranges anywhere from 5 gm (silken tofu) to 15 gm for about 3-4 oz. ( Not the firm tofu, the tofu bricks - the denser the better - mostly found in Asian grocery stores - convenient much?) And I'm not about to eat tofu 3x a day. Gah! How? The only solution I could think of was a protein supplement preferably from vegetable sources. Now some of you may have heard about the scandal about 30-40-ish years ago that protein supplements were contaminated. And not just PFA or whatever. Heavy metals... lead, cadmium. Enjoy retardation much? But wait! Modern products are just as contaminated! The only testing organization that tests for all of these types of contaminants that I'm aware of is Informed Choice. They test for well over 200 harmful and dubious substances. So toss organic, non-gmo, gluten-free (well unless it's been medically proven that the stuff is harmful to you..) out the window. Your best bet is the Informed Choice seal. I've been using Vega mostly because I don't tolerate many products. If there are ingredients where I'm sensitive, I'll just toss my cookies. But Vega does not submit to Informed Choice and I wasn't really happy with their "standards". So when I saw this product I instantly switched. Good news - I can hold it down Bad news - in the race to get the highest quality product, taste has been left far behind. Initial inspection of the product immediately fills you with doubt - Do not try to swish this into your favorite beverage and drink it. It doesn't dissolve well and drinking clumps of this...You will regret this, I promise. I made a smoothies with this with almond milk and the flavor and texture was much improved. Adding powdered cocoa, banana and for me stevia worked really well. It wasn't great but there was no gagging and I could drink the whole thing. The appetite suppressant effect was there in force. Effectively I felt so full I started to skip meals like lunch... and dinner... I found myself not snacking at all. To my surprise I was loosing weight and I didn't even notice it was happening until I put on this ancient jacket from the bygone days when I was a size or two smaller and the dang thing was loose on me. Uhh..this is great for weight loss, but I promise you this diet is not what my nutritionist wanted for healing...You are suppose to drink this in addition to balanced meals.... Drat, still working on getting enough food into the stomach...

Easy to mix, mixes thoroughly in shaker, smooth taste. 21 grams for 8 oz of liquid added to 1 scoop!
I have this on Subscribe & Save. It's soooo good!!! Easy to mix: I use either unsweetened or vanilla almond milk and have mixed it with lactose free 2% cow milk, too. great consistency, smooth, dissolves completely. add 1 scoop to 8 oz of milk... and I use a shaker... shake it up... and it's gone before I know it... and I want more. I use this because I do not get enough protein in my diet, so use it as a supplement. since starting to use this about 3 months ago, my health has greatly improved and I no longer am protein deficient. it is sealed under the lid with a paper seal, just tear that off, and it comes with a scoop I've noticed... this powder only needs 1 scoop, while other powders ... need 2... so.... I think it's much nicer than others I've tried...

Tastes great! The container is half full?
Haven’t even tried it yet but…. My first impression is… WHY IS IT HALF FULL?????? It’s half full!?!? So far, without tasting, the value for my money is lousy. **Update** Ok- I purchased the vanilla flavor and mixed with unsweetened Almond milk. I have to admit it’s really good. I’m happy with the taste and ease with which the powder mixed. The taste for me is 5 stars BUT still have to ask… WHY IS THE CONTAINER HALF FULL?

A Step Towards The Elemental Diet
If you don't know what an elemental diet is, it's a medical protocol where you eat pretty much predigested stuff so that all your food is absorbed in the first few feet of your small intestine. The idea is to give your large intestine a break. This is helpful for things like bacteria and fungal overgrowth like SIBO and SIFO, and possibly other digestive issues like Crohn's disease and IBS. There are a lot of studies showing the benefits to this diet. The problem is it's expensive. Nestlé's Vivonex is very expensive (I see it for like $100 or more for only 6 meals... I think they expect your insurance to cover the cost). Other quality brands that you can buy online are about $75 for about 10 meals (Absorb Plus and Elemental Heal) or $140 for about 36 meals (Physicians' Elemental Diet). You can make your own for much less which basically requires whey protein isolate, maltodextrin, and a good multivitamin, but I found it very hard to get a good multivitamin to use as most are meant to in be additional to a healthy diet, not to replace all your vitamins and minerals for the day. While this isn't meant to be used for the elemental diet, it's a good step to try it out for cheap (I got mine $35 for about 20 servings) without the hassle of making your own as it has pretty much no fiber (1 gram) and a bunch of different vitamins and minerals since it is food based. No, it won't all get absorbed in the first few feet of your small intestine as it does have fiber, but I imagine most of powder does get absorbed. And you can NOT do a full-blown elemental diet with this (replacing all 3 meals in a day) as it isn't meant for that. But you can use it to replace breakfast, and many people have reported that's all they needed to get their digestive issues under control when it comes to the elemental diet. At the very least, it'll give you an idea how it's like to only have a shake for a meal. (Yes, you could probably just do intermittent fasting and get the same results of doing a breakfast only elemental diet, but for me and many others, I can't really do that with my job. It's stressful and for safety purposes I need to be focused. I can't risk being hungry and distracted while working my job.) I will say it's pretty low calorie as a meal replacement. It's about 110 while most elemental diet shakes are about 350 calories per drink. You can add coconut oil, cocoa powder, honey, and/or maltodextrin to get more calories. As for taste and texture goes, it tastes like pretty much all the other protein powders I drank growing up with a slight earthy and green flavor to it. But, yeah, it's a good way to see what the elemental diet will be like and if it's something you might be interested in before you buy the more expensive products specifically designed for it.

Awesome Product and Low Carb!
Absolutely one of the BEST tasting and smoothest plant based/low carb protein powders! 1 scoop per serving is great. It mixes well with water. I will definitely buy the other flavors.

Protein Shake
Great product but it’s a little chalky. I like to add light & Fit Greek yogurts, almond milk and peanut butter powder which makes it taste better. I was drinking this to supplement the vitamins and protein I was missing in my daily diet. Highly recommend this product, will definitely it again in the future.

Proteine vegetali

Great meal replacement
This is a great meal replacement protein powder. It tastes great and it has the right amount of protein per serving(20g). I used it to add more protein to my diet. I like the vanilla flavor. I have not tried chocolate so I do not know which flavor tastes the best.
