March 2023 update
Got my Green Willows in. I did get the dragon willows as well. So, I read the Directions and placed the cuttings in cups of water. The cuttings that seemed slow with roots I swapped cuttings that are growing fast mixed with those not growing so quickly. Researched online that the willows give off a hormone that causes rooting. So those cuttings that barely had roots I swapped in with those doing very well. Then eventually they all had a lot of roots. I bought 3 gallon and 4 gallon planters pots. I made sure to buy FOX FARMS Ocean Forest soil. My local garden center had the soil. From there I filled pots with soil and before placing the cuttings in. I pruned the roots a little so it was even around. I placed in the soil and gentle covering the roots. Then gave a good watering and placed outside. If the temp got below 30 I would bring them inside. So far all my cuttings are doing well. Update 4/21. Added recent picture. My green willows all growing very well. Had no failures so far and been following the directions per what was given. Update 5/12. Willows still going strong. Been using water down fertilizer to help give nutrients. Uploaded picture of one I plant to keep and bonsai. 3/14/23 3/17/23 Placed in Bonsai training pot. From purchase to now, I was very surprised in how much root growth it had. Same as I said before. Make sure to follow directions. Use good soil(Fox Farms Ocean Floor). DO NOT USE Miracle grow. I plan to gift the other 3 to a friend who wants willows for his pond. Update photo 3/22/23 potted into plastic bonsai pot and soil. Mixed little bit of fox farms soil and slow release fertilizer mixed in. Limbs are wired. To get the willow look for a small tree you will need to train it. Other photo is if you let it grow on its own. They grow fast once roots are established it grows. Will Update when spring hits

Follow the instructions!!!!
Update:3/7/2022 this was gifted to 2 family members. Both contacted me the plants are now dead with a black fungus growing on them. No change in soil, followed instructions to a T, unhappy and weird it occurred at around the same time with two different households 45 minutes from each otherโฆ. Update: including pics of plants now almost 4 weeks later. All 3 stems are blooming!!! The bright light is the grow light I also bought on Amazon, it came recommended after I added the CZ bonsai tree to my shopping cart. I plan on posting pics when I can, but since these were gifted I will have to come back to this review to update. I got instructions on how to grow and followed them to the T. As soon as the stems came in I submerged them in a cup of water 2 inches deep. After watching CZโs video I then bought a $14 grow light since I was to scared to put it by the window (Iโm cheap and donโt like turning my heat on in winter so it gets cold and the plants were suppose to be in a warm environment). Can I just say the plants are blooming faster than what was stated on the video! They gave me extra stems and all of them are budding and have roots growing after 1 1/2 weeks! I am so happy I was actually able to gift a plant with some buds so it didnโt look like a stick in a cup lol

READ/WATCH THE INSTRUCTIONS
Iโve ordered plants on Amazon before. Theyโve always come in a generally okay box with the small potted plant. I honestly wasnโt really thinking about how this plant was going to be shipped until the morning of the expected delivery date. That morning of, I thought, โHow is a fragile plant like whatโs pictured supposed to be sent?!โ Then it was delivered. I thought someone else sent me something. SPOILER: they didnโt. I opened a very small manila envelope-esque package, not thinking it was gonna be this order. When I opened the package, I pull out a piece of tree with two smaller pieces of tree wrapped in a wet paper towel and rubber band that was in a clear plastic wrap. At first I was like, โUh ohโฆ I did I just get bamboozled?!?โ I started reading the instructions which also has a QR code. I scanned the QR code and it led me to an instructional video that told me how to care for this plant. The person in the video said that the bottoms of the small pieces of tree (lol) that you get have to be submerged in 2 inches of water in a small pot for 2 to 3 weeks. They mentioned that it doesnโt necessarily have to be 2 weeks, but youโll start to see roots sprouting, and then you can take whatโs in the water and put it in the soil that they recommend. Iโve only had my plant for about five days and I can already see roots growing so things are looking great. Iโm looking forward to seeing how much it grows and how beautiful itโs gonna be. I will say, though, in the personโs video, they showed what their plant looked like only after a couple of months and GIRLโฆ she looks like a whole TREE. its BIG. and I have a studio apartment!! So weโll cross that bridge when we get there. Itโll be fine. Weโre fine. Thatโs on me for not researching how big it can get. Iโd say this is definitely an option if you have a bigger apartment, a house maybe with high ceilings; you definitely need a lot of light ideally warm light. Otherwise, if you have an outdoor greenhouse or want to try planting it outside of your house if you live in a warmer climate, just read the instructions. Listen to the video and youโll be fine. I havenโt gotten to this point yet, but REMINDER: buy the type of soil the person on the video recommends. Iโm happy that I purchased. Iโll give it 5 stars for now, since itโs seemingly growing rooting well. But Iโll come back with updates if anything changes.

Willow cutting
They died after a couple of months when I got them in th dirt ๐ฅบ but they did grow leafs really fast and it was beautiful. There was not a variety there were multiples though. They were a decent size. But I would purchase again. They also arrived fairly fast.

Be patient
Not gonna lie when I received what I thought was a plant I was shook. Three sticks came, and I expressed a few expletives and told my daughter this wasnโt what I ordered. She went to the reviews and read them and it was exactly what I ordered. Then we start laughing. I can make anything grow so I proceeded to get my vases and put the 2 to 3 inches of water in the bottom and place the sticks inside the vase in a very well lit area of the house. Within a few days, they immediately started to root. I was elated then the task of me seeking out the proper soil so that I can plant them in pots, well that took another few days and while I waited, they started to bud. This brought me quite a bit of joy as I received these around the time that my granddaughter was born, so they are growing together. Every day, looking at them and seeing how they are transforming has brought me tremendous joy, I am definitely awaiting what the final result will be with this beautiful plant. Just a sidenote, always read the details of the product. For me it has been a happy happenstance. I would definitely take on this task again in the future

Great for beginners. I started with the three, now I've got dozens
I bought these willow shoots four years ago, and they're one of the best things I've bought on Amazon. I'm reviewing this item now because in the years since I received the three shoots, I've not only got the biggest of the original three trees, but also several dozen more trees growing from cuttings. I was able to grow the originals (lost one, unfortunately) but I've also been able to propagate many cuttings as the trees grow. Because I'm trying to promote thick trunk growth, I prune the fastest growing branches pretty regularly. When I prune branches I save the cuttings for new trees. I scrape the bark at the base of the cutting, and dip it into root hormone powder. Then, just like the originals, I let them soak in water until their roots start to grow, which they inevitably do. When the roots have grown healthy enough, I pot the cuttings and keep them fertilized. These are hearty trees. It's spring, and I'm propagating a new batch of cuttings. I would say that if you're interested in growing trees in a bonsai style, and you don't consider yourself a master gardener, this is a very good tree to start with. The attached photos show the "mama" where you can see the cut on the original shoot, but also the "kids" that are thriving from cuttings, as well as the latest "babies" developing their roots in water.

Easy to care for and nice to look at.
Bought these mostly for my sister for her birthday but also got some for myself. My sister's didn't last long, I don't recommend these unless you regularly care for plants and are consistent. These do ok with grow lights but as soon as the weather is right, these should be out side. You can definitely get significant growth with natural sun light. Word of warning, make sure they only spend half the day, maybe less, in full sunlight. I have attached pictures that show the results of a week of full sun and being watered once ever morning only. Went camping and couldn't do anything for them. Alternatively, if you're present to care for them, you might be able to get away with full sun with a small additional watering each day and regular misting. The only complaints I have are that the leaves eventually stare curling, not sure if it's over or under watering. And in one of the attached pictures you can see that something is happening to the top ends of two of my bonsai, not sure what's causing it. As I have ruined them by leaving them in the sun for a week, I will be buying again. I gave it 4 stars for the unexplainable rotting/dying ends.
