Excellent tools
I love this book. I read it like a novel sometimes. Plenty of stat blocks, and hundreds of new ideas to add to your campaign. It's a welcome addition to my world building library. Showed up in perfect condition.

Great book!
It's a really good book. It's good for DMs making campaigns or for if you're like me and you just really like reading about monsters for fun. Very interesting monsters. Pros: A lot of fey and undead. A decent amount of elementals, constructs, and fiends. Large amounts of mythology-inspired things, specifically Greek, Norse, and Chinese. Lots of CR 5-10 monsters. Lots of good bosses or minibosses for mid to high level campaigns. Cons: Very few monsters with CRs lower than 3. A couple printing errors and typos. As an example, there is a monster with an attack that does 2d6 + 4 damage, and it is listed as 911 average damage instead of 11. However, I sometimes see these same errors in official D&D books, so it's not that bad.

Another Fantastic Monster Book
Kobold Press has done it again with yet another excellent monster book. If you're looking for a new Big Bad or just interesting creatures to use, this book has you covered. Dragons, Drakes, Fey, Fiends, Dinosaurs, Oozes, and so much more; each and every one of them having their own piece of wonderful art. In traditional Kobold Press style, there are some creatures that are completely bizarre, like the Ogrepede (a centipede literally composed of over a dozen ogres), and the Toad King, a fey that likes to trick adventurers into going on elaborate quests to end his froggy "curse" (that doesn't actually exist), and he even includes a convenient table for examples of such quests. Like the original Tome of Beasts and the Creature Codex, the creatures in this book are a little stronger than most equivalent CR creatures published by WOTC, which I personally prefer, but could cause an issue if you just throw them at a party without knowing that ahead of time. Overall, the book is a great addition to my 5th edition collection, and I'm quite happy to have another 350+ well designed creatures to choose from.

great book
After picking up so many WotC D&D 5E books i never really expected these books to be considerably so much thicker and just full of monsters. I'm usually one to just make homebrew or additional content but these books (Tome of Beasts 1, 2 and Creature codex) are so worth the price to pick up for so much content and decent art to boot. Pad your 5E library with these! They are beautiful and useful and cheap for the quality you get.

Excellent Monster Additions for 5e. Not just reskinned meat bags...
I purchased this book to fill out a lack of depth in the CR8-13 range that my group was facing. A lot of monsters used in the module we are running are based on Damage Resistance (DR) to boost their CR and were thus a little oversimplified to encounter. These monsters in Tome of Beats II have a lot of cool abilities. My favorite sub-type in the book is the Drakes (lesser Dragon Type creatures) but the majority of creatures in the book have abilities that really showcase what makes them unique and brings them to life in a "realistic" and more lethal way. I have only used a handful of creatures from this book in 5e games so far, but they have proved exciting in encounters. I am unfamiliar with other RPGs but for 5e D&D this is a great supplement.

Kobold Press is a gift to the 5E community
I'm writing this review a bit late, but, the Tome of Beasts series (including this one, Tome of Beasts 2) and the Creature Codex are, in my opinion, must-haves for any 5th Edition Dungeon Master who cares about expanding their bestiary of creatures (or even just wants to have a bunch more which she/he can browse for inspiration). I hope that Kobold Press continues to make extra bestiaries for 5E, as, they're almost always an instant-buy for me.

A fine selection of third party creatures.
The selection is broad and the ideas fresh. While third party, I appreciate the effort to keep within the style of 5th edition. If you are looking for either higher level challenges for an experienced group or just something unusual, I recommend this book. As a note, Ravenloft campaign setting launches in a few months, many of these creatures require only the slightest of flavor changes to fit nicely into the Domains of Dread. As a plus, players will most likely be very unfamiliar with such creatures.

More monsters than you'll ever need.
Meet the people at Kobold Press at Gen Con 2021 and convinced me to purchase Tome of Beasts One and Creature Codex both I highly recommend. Between these three books you got 1200 optional Monsters for your 5-edition game. They quality, care, and versatility is astounding. Whether you use these books for their Midgard games or to add to your D&D 5th edition campaign, you are going to like what you have here,. Love the Clockwork creations and many of the Fey creatures. They share in the same vagueness you see in 5th edition Monster Manuals, which does allow for the DM to build on their own interpretation, while I like a bit more "meat and potatoes" for my descriptions and background. But that's my personal opinion. You definitely get what you pay for with this book and the other Kobold Press books. So I highly recomend DMs and players and for RPG fans like me who love a good monster book.

Another Excellent Bestiary by Kobold Press
Kobold Press don't mess around. In my eyes, the bestiaries of Kobold Press exceed in quality and interest those of the original publisher. It is thanks to the quality of their writing and the originality of their creation that Kobold Press has carved out an important place at our game table. Each creature is accompanied by a mood text which often contains story seeds. This book is simply stuffed to the brim with fantastic creatures ready to be used in your campaign or any other setting. Really impressive, as always from Kobold Press.

Excellent selection of new challenges for your players
There are some really inventive monsters and abilities here. 43 new Fey creatures, 48 undead, 44 aberrations ... even the smaller categories such as oozes, Giants and Celestials are represented by ten or more species. You won't use all of them but when you need some inspiration dip in and find something inspiring to create an encounter around whether it's a fey puppeteer (Jack of Strings) or an undead mage killer (Scroll Mummy) or the monsterous Stormboar with it's lightning and thunder based attacks and abilities there are creatures where lore and abilities combine logically and evocatively. Some are a little silly (for me) or more complex than they perhaps need to be - but that is rare. This is not a book where you pick out the one or two good monsters its a book where you can lift out monster after monster and drop them into your campaign with confidence. Compared to their previous offerings of the Tome of Beasts and the Creature Codex, I think this might actually be the best of the three - certainly no drop off of quality.

Einfach fantastisch
