will it stop the burning?

Yes, for me it did. When you put it on it feels cool and soothes.  I've been using it for years should I get a flair up.  Put enough on the area.  I even put a small piece of tissue there so my panties don't get any stain.  Try it.  The tubes are small.  You have nothing to lose except the burn.  For me, if I have acid food it irritates and causes flair  ups so be careful.  Try it.  Let me know what you think at gerharp@aol.com.   I tried it all and this is the only thing that works.  My acupuncturist told me about it and thank goodness for her.
