Of Course 5 Stars "it's a Wűsthof "
THRILLED!!! Just thrilled to find my old, very old WÜSTHOF, over 30 years and their new knives are made in the same Solingen factory. Wow. The quality was top notch then and I'm sure it still is, or better. It came in a very reasonable time and very well packaged. My choice was due to the exceeding quality, the balance, the strength, and thinness of the blade. Oh, and the price beats everywhere I looked. Don't be afraid of a 12" knife. It works on everything from mushrooms to onions, to potatoes, and is fantastic on any meat. Cutting chicken breast almost paper thin, Fish, veal, lamb, etc... It and my old Wűsthof knives will be passed down to my daughter. Seems to last forever with proper care.

Perfect Size (7 inch)
I find an 8 inch chef knife too long. The 7 inch is the perfect size. Excellent feel and balance. Highly recommend.

Just right
My 8" Chef's knife feels clunky to me sometimes. My first cutlery set was a Wusthof Classic set that is now over 25 years old and those knives are still in my block. I have both German and Asian steel based knives. While they both have their pros and cons, I have found that for daily use I prefer German knives that (in my opinion) are just more durable. In that light, I can say that this 7" Wusthof Chef is now my go to knife... balanced, holds its edge, and I'm not worried about it chipping.

Quality of the knife and the length of the blade (12 inches).
I am 6’ 7” tall. The 12 inch blade works with my forearm length to make it very easy to cut, slice, & dice foods. The long blade works for me however, a short person might have trouble. One of the reasons I bought this knife is because it “fit me”. It light for its size and very nimble. It is fast becoming my kitchen workhorse. If you have long forearms this is the knife for you. In case no one told you, a knife is purchased base on the grip size of your hand and the length of your forearm and the quality of the steel. I highly recommend the shipper as well.

This knife is great!
I accidently ordered the wrong size. I wanted to replace a previous Wustothof 10" chef's knife that I have used for over 25 years. The 12" is just too heavy and long for me (small female). It would be perfect for a tall stronger person. I now received the 10" and it's perfect. Super sharp so be careful! Company easy to work with.

It's a Wusthof - supreme knife quality.
Before I had this I had an 8 inch and 6 inch chef's knife. I was hoping this would be a size in between. It is lengthwise but the girth is only that of the 6 inch.

Perfect quality knife in length and weight
I've found my forever knife. Got a big ol Zwelling which was expensive and even a Japanese engraved knife from Japan, so took me awhile to get over the guilt of buying another one. But gosh, this size and weight is so perfect for me. It's a joy using it and beats the prices I saw on sale in malls here in SG. Got it at a fab discount and it was so good that when it went on sale again, my wife bought me another to use at our mom's house where I cook too, so I didn't have to keep bringing it to and fro! Excellent, excellent quality. So happy!

Quality knife
Bought as a Christmas gift for my son (loves to cook). This is the premium Wusthof range, forged and not stamped from sheet steel like their other range. You get what you pay for!! I know knives. Pay the extra and buy the better product.

Chuffing huge
This is a VERY big knife. Most people will not need a knife this big. Otherwise the same quality you'd expect from Wushtof

Feels sturdy
This knife is so sharp it honestly makes me question my chopping skills. It glides through. It hefty/solid feeling in a good way and should last a while. I just like holding it. It’s definitely a bit of a “treat yourself” knife, but once you use it, your old knives will feel like butter knives. Worth it if you like cooking and money is just numbers that magically appears on an app in your phone....
