Simple, effective, great price, and is so great at finding the owners of lost or deceased pets
Love this scanner! Especially since we live in the mountains in rural areas where there are so many dumped and straay animals... not to mention the senseless roadkill on the highways and frontage roads. This device has helped me find dogs and cats owners as well as locate those looking for their pets who have already deceased. Simple, effective, great price. Only thing is I wish the reader was bigger. It's very hard to see. Also, would love if it would take a snap shot and save it to the device so that you can upload it to your computer if needed to be emailed... or texted through your phone. 5 stars all the way!!!

It Works!
I live in a rural area where we get a lot of visitor cats that never have collars or tags, so it's hard to discern whether they're strays or just outdoor cats. We also see a lot of dogs just roaming the neighborhood and surrounding area that also typically don't have collars or tags. The closest veterinary office is a 20-30 minute drive, so bringing an animal in to check for a microchip would be a process. I figured I would give this thing a shot because it would be nice to have a scanner on hand to at least check if an animal is microchipped. Operation is one button, and the scanner picks up chips instantly as soon as one is near. I tested it on my own animals and it was very easy to find their microchips. You do need to be quite close but that's typically how these scanners work. I couldn't quite figure out the software though. It just seemed to give me the option of changing settings rather than being able to view the tag numbers I had already scanned. Overall, if you care about stray animals and want an option to be able to check if an animal is chipped, this is a great option for keeping in your car or in a handbag as it is very small and lightweight, and it works very well.

Helped Reunite a Pet with Owner!
Worked perfectly and was easy to use. Helped me find the owner pf a lost dog. Scanned all of my pets and read their chips as well. But you must look up the chip number in online databases afterwards to get the owners contact information!

Highly recommend
This microchip machine helps so much. I used it when seeing if a stray cats has a microchip. I highly recommend buying this because it is easy to use and it is reliable.

I think it doesn’t work on older chips only on newer chips
It works!!! And it works fast. You press the button and you hold the microchip scanner over the shoulder blades close to the animal, it immediately registers, but it’s not picking up my Shih Tzu’s chip, they have older chips. My cats are registered with home again. I took the number I typed it into aaha.org, it’s a national registry and it popped right up, told me the cat is registered with home again.

Works well. Cheap and durable.
Reads super fast. Has a tiny range, so you need to be very close to the chip for it to work. It also got dropped a couple of times from about 5 feet onto hardwood floor, but was perfectly fine. Does its job, so no complaints here.

Does not read chips
⭐️☆☆☆☆ Does Not Read Chips: A Paperweight in an Emergency I bought this scanner to have peace of mind for my pets, but it has been a total disappointment. Despite being listed as "Amazon's Choice" and claiming to support both 134.2kHz and 125kHz frequencies, it consistently fails to detect or read actual microchips. The Main Issues: Total Failure to Read: I tested this on my own pets (who I know are chipped and have had their chips verified by a vet), and the scanner repeatedly showed "No Tag" or simply stayed in scanning mode until it timed out. Poor Sensitivity: Unlike professional vet scanners, the antenna in this unit is very weak. Unless you are touching the exact millimeter where the chip is located (and the chip hasn't migrated at all), it won't pick up a signal. Incompatibility: While it claims to be "universal," it seems to struggle significantly with common 15-digit ISO chips and 9-digit AVID chips. Pros: It is rechargeable and the screen is bright. Cons: Unreliable: You cannot trust this device to identify a lost pet or verify your own pet's chip. False Sense of Security: If I had found a lost dog with this scanner, I would have assumed it wasn't chipped, which is a dangerous mistake. Verdict: Do not rely on this for animal safety. It is better to spend more on a high-quality universal scanner or simply take a pet to a local vet or shelter where they use professional-grade equipment that actually works. Returning this immediately.
