The latest... Well the first one didn't work at all. Then the replacement broke itself; when the outer arms grabbed the jar, they squeezed hard enough to break one arm off!! Returned it without problem. Not buying another. ------- Earlier comment... It does open jars but it is kind of wonky. Doesn't work as described. Details as follows: First one didn't work at all. Returned it for replacement. Second doesn't work as described but it does open the jars. 1. The booklet says "Scan QR for instructional movie" Instead, I get some guff about subscribing to a spam filter. 2 The booklet says "Reduce the outer jaws to the size of the can." Then the illustration shows to move the inner jaws. In any case, neither the outer nor inner jaws can be moved. 3. Pressing the green button sets the thing in operation, and it takes a while for the fully open jaws to close slowly to grip the jar lid first, and then the jar body. 4. But it does open the very tight jar lid, then returns both sets of jaws to the wide open/rest position. 5. But the sequence, running the motor all the time, takes so long that it makes me suspect it's a "battery eater." Only two AAs, but who doesn't make these things USB rechargeable these days? 6. Lastly, the guide book does read a little "Chinglish." That's not a problem, but why not have a native English speaker proof it before publication? Only a five minute job. So I suspect that reflects the quality of the product. We'll keep it for a couple of weeks, see how it goes.. . (IT DESTROYED ITSELF! )

Update 4-9-24: I am still a big fan of this jar opener but I promised to come back and note any issue that developed. I purchased this opener in July of '23 so I've had it 10 months and used it multiple times a week. The opener still works BUT I have to keep my finger pushing down on the "on button" on top of the opener until the lid pops open or it will stop tightening around the lid and open back up. When I first got it, I could push down on it and then let go and it completed the function of opening the jar. I'm not considering this a huge deal as it does effortlessly open the jar. As soon as the opener pops the lid open, I just let got and it releases the jar. This jar opener is amazing. I'm elderly, disabled, and have arthritis in my hands so needed help opening cans and jars. After finding the perfect battery operated can opener which I did a review on, I started looking for a jar opener. This battery operated electric jar opener is perfection. I literally just set the opener on top of the lid on ANY size jar and press the button. I gently hold the opener in place while it closes around the lid, let go and away we go. The opener tightens securely around the lid, starts turning and pop, the lid opens. Nothing could be easier. I am SO grateful I found this gadget. Everyone with hand issues should have one of these. I promise to come back and edit this review if I have any problems with this jar opener in the next year.

I LOVE this jar opener. I was in a bad accident years ago and have severe pain in both my hands now. I am almost 62 years old and I don't normally write reviews unless it is a game changer and this is. I can no longer open any jars. I tried opening a jar of salsa one night to have chips and salsa but could not get it opened. I tried running the jar under hot water to loosen the seal. I tried it five times under hot water and still couldn't get it opened. I ordered a manual jar opener, and it was a JOKE. I couldn't even get the jar opener around the lid. My hands pain so bad; how do companies expect people to get the jar opener around the jar lid? I sent it back and got this ELECTRIC opener. I got the color red because it was cheaper than the other color and as long as it works, that's all I care about. This electric jar opener is a LIFESAVER! If you have problems opening jars like I do, I would highly recommend this opener. It is so EASY to use, if it wasn't I would have sent it back. If I did not order this jar opener, my jar of salsa would still be sitting on the counter unopened. This was the best buy, for $16.00 it is so worth saving my hands from pain. It runs on 2 AA battery's. I am so happy that I can now open jars without the assistance of someone else. You can't imagine how much better my life is now that I have this electric jar opener. One wouldn't think that an electric jar opener would make such a difference in ones life,but it sure did. I'm so glad I ordered this. When this one wears out, I'll buy another one!

Only used a few times, but it seems to work really well! It really grips the jar and pops the lid off with relative ease! My only concern is with the pressure exerted on the jar, will the jar break? So far so good, and this may simply be just my perception of how much pressure this exerts on a jar.

Yes !! I just received this jar opener. My wrists and hand strength are really poor….and I really did not have high expectations for this product. I tried it on a Fairlife milk container that I was ready to give up on. I watched the tutorial and tried it. It was slow to close the grips but worked perfectly ! Now I took out Hubbys new jar of peanut butter and showed him how it works. He was amazed and commented on the fantastic opener design. I also like the responsiveness by the customer service that I read. I will try it on many things and then tell all of my friends !!

Three stars is being generous. One of the side grasps broke off within 15 minutes of use. The grasps are meant for small to medium jars, not large jars that you might buy from a Sams or Costco. Amazon has not been doing their best lately. I hate to say this, but maybe it's time that I go back to shopping local and in-person.

It’s easy to use. You have to get it centred over the lid or it topples off as it twists to open it. So much better than running hot water over the Lid using hand held grippers etc.

Fantastic product.

Not a gimmicky toy to buy, but a genuine aide to have if you need it. It is slow and noisy but does the job well with no effort required. So if your hands and wrists are in very bad condition this will give you more independence. But if they are not so bad you may be better with the manual aides that require some effort.

Arrived on time but didn't work so I'm almost 40 bucks down
