what is the diameter for the whisk?

The diameter is 3 inches and it is very substantial. I love it. It handles bread dough well. Was a wise purchase for me.

Is the handle plastic or wood?

It is wood and very smooth. Where the wire whisk goes into the handle it is covered in a clear epoxy like substance so when you get it wet there will be no damaging the handle. It is such a great product that I buy them as gifts now.

Differences in grip, feel and longevity of the wood handle types?

It’s a lightweight wood, but sturdy. I have had my whisk for about a year and use frequently for stiff dough and have had no issues. Grip is perfect. This is my favorite kitchen tool.
