Great shoe for teaching dance! No pain! Good arch and heel support.
SO THANKFUL to have found this shoe! With the laces, you can choose how tight you'd like the fit. I teach 20+ dance classes per week and these have saved my feet! I am normally a very consistent "9", but the 9.5 fit me perfect. The sizing reviews were all over the place so I order three different sizes and ending up keeping the 9.5. I can still perform chainรฉs and pirouettes safely without twerking my knees. I can also still "pointe my toes" while teaching/demonstrating. The tip of the shoe is squared off which is also very cute and helping for teaching pointe (although I do not go up on pointe in theses shoes). They are very lightweight and breathable too. I usually wear them with a pair of thin socks. I have been teaching with them for about a month and I think they are a great shoe! Highly recommend.

Perfect for a ballet teacher
My daughter wears a street shoe 9 and bought these shoes in a size 8.5. They fit perfectly. My daughter paid full price for a new pair of shoes and got a pair of used shoes, so be aware of that. If they had been new, they would have been beautiful, supportive, good quality, lightweight and perfect for a ballet teacher.

Great dance sneaker
I am a dance instructor and needed a pair of dance sneakers for teaching so my feet donโt get sore from hours of teaching in jazz or ballet shoes. It recommended to go up a half size but I did not feel this was needed. I wear a size 9 in sneakers and bought a 9.5. I could have easily bought a 9 and they would have fit perfectly. I have wide feet and the width fit nicely. Arch support is great. They allow for pointing the foot nicely. These are perfect for pirouettes and turns as they allow for less grip than regular tennis shoes. I wore these to perform a finale in our recital and they were so comfortable and function great on a stage. They are canvas so they do get hot if worn for long periods of time. Most dance sneakers are hideous but I chose these as they were not too bulky or flashy, and they look great on! All in all a great dance shoe! My coworker ended up ordering the same pair after trying mine out!

Great for Zumba!
I don't think most people know what a difference the right pair of shoes can make in an activity like Zumba. The ability to flex the feet provided by the split sole helps build foot muscles. The spin spot at the ball of the foot makes the swiveling and turning in the routines easy and painless. I'm in good shape, but I have fibromyalgia and am double jointed, so shoes with even a small amount of grip make my feet, knees and hips instantly painful. I exercise to help keep my joints in place and these shoes make that possible. Before these sneakers, I used Capezio jazz shoes, which have a much thinner sole and profile. They were far better than regular sneakers, but they had less cushioning in the sole and shoe overall. I think these sneakers are much better for Zumba overall. As for sizing, I was concerned because my street shoe is 5.5-6, and the Capezio jazz shoes I'd had were a 7, but still tight. I ordered 7 in these sneakers and prayed for the right fit - and they're great! I'm so, so happy with these. Also, I chose these because they're suede-free, which means they can be tossed in the wash. I did that every few weeks with my other Capezios and they held up beautifully, looking like new on top even after two years and having danced the sole away. I'm hoping these sneakers hold up the same way. I wash in cool and set out on the rack or outside in the shade to dry. No dryer. After seeing how much I love these, other ladies in the class have asked where I got them. I sent them the link to these shoes, so if you see a few orders come in from Orange County, CA, you're welcome! ;)

Just Right
These shoes are very comfortable and have good arch support. Can't wait for the next Zumba and salsa classes. True to size but don't wear "thick" socks.

Might run small BUT...know your own needs.
Bottom line: sizing for dance shoes is very subjective & you should be aware of how YOU like your dance shoes to fit before trusting other reviews. I usually wear a 7.5 in street shoes, occasionally a 7 and usually a 7 fits but I like the 7.5 better. Ibought these shoes for irish dance & I ordered an 8 and they fit great. I have wide toe box, and a high arch, and this fits both nicely. I prefer a snug fit for my dance shoes (my irish dance shoes are 3.5 soft/ghillie & 4.5 hard/jig) and I think I could have gotten away with the 7.5 in these as well. If you want these to fit like your street shoes (room/not tight in the toe box)--go at least half size up but no more than a full size. If you like your dance shoes snug, you can order these true to size or at most a half size up. I notice a lot of these reviews seem to be from people with very wide feet/ankles, this is not the case for me. On my first use I find I like the balance of being able to turn & not sliding too much--seems others do not have this experience, I think it depends on what you want them for. If you want super grippy shoes, these are not it. The synthetic sole is somewhat firm & I think they need to be softer for grip. I can move easily without fear of falling. Cannot speak to durability yet.

A Hard Edge
Wanted to like this shoe. Bought them to replace a pair of Capezios I purchased (and loved) a dozen yrs ago. I just thought it was time to replace, simply due to the age of the shoe. (I only use for zumba - they have never touched asphalt.) The new shoes, however, seem to have a hard edge running along the outter run of my foot - from the pinky-toe to my heel. Tried zumba in them twice. Tightened the laces... used thicker athletic socks... then simply switched back to the old shoe.

Great for Bachata and Salsa!
These are really comfortable and lightweight on my feet when dancing. I dance a lot of bachata and salsa and needed shoes with less grip to be able to spin properly. Tried these in my dance class and they were perfect for spinning and also gave support to my high instep. Only downside is the tongue on the right shoe digs in a bit on my foot but I can cut it down a bit and this should hopefully prevent it from happening.

Good quality
I purchased these for line dancing. Good arch support, heel not as high as other jazz shoes. Room in toe box makes shoe very comfortable. Very flexible. I like the quality of these shoes. Very comfortable to dance in and sole allows for ease of turns and spinning without torque on my knees. Great purchase!
