How far are you supposed to throw it?

The throw ratio 0.25:1. Maximum throw distance will be around 16" with 120" image. :-)

How do I access the framed art exhibit?

I think it's the screensaver, that's only place I've seen it

Does this projector ship with the optoma cinemax p2 update 1/31/21 ?

Don’t know what version when I got mine in January 2021, but it has since had two updates. This is my second Optoma (last one is 1080p). I recommend Optoma !

Since the projector is rated up to 120", does that mean 120" in both 16:9 and in 4:3? If so, then an ideal screen size would be more like 135", right?

The 120" "limit" is probably to state that that is the maximum size you can achieve while maintaining its 3,000 lumen rating. If you go larger, that means you're setting it further back away from the wall, which means you're (slowly) degrading the brightness. You most likely won't notice 2,800 lumens vs 3,000, especially in a shaded room.
