First, I'd like to say I disagree with what you're looking to do. I'm sure you can call whatever authority is in charge of wildlife wherever you are. Secondly, if you injure the bird you might be liable for a fine, imprisonment or both. In this day and age there are cameras everywhere. However, all that said, there's no way that will shoot a golf ball 50 ft with any force at all. It's made for small dense ammo...rocks, ball bearing, etc

what is the recommended age for the Daisy P51 slingshot?

Age is but a number as long as the user is taught responsibly but this is definitely not a toy! It requires strength to pull back and utilize it's full potential but that doesn't mean one couldn't get hurt or cause mischief with 1/2 power. I have similar, Daisy, sling shots without the wrist support for my boys 9 and 11 and they complain that they are hard to pull back. They prefer the homemade slings we made using large rubber-bands. Fun little project also.
