Great charger that tells you what's going on and gives options for reconditioning older batteries
Best batteries and charger. When batteries start to get old, you can recondition them with this charger and make them last a lot longer. It shows you what's going on so you can fix it. I get some old batteries that read High and won't charge. I run them through discharge first and that fixes them. The PowerX batteries tend to store more charge and last longer than other brands. This works with any brand NiMH AA or AAA rechargeable batteries.

Best charger available!
Powerex has solved all the problems I had with the previous version of this charger. It is so good that I went ahead and bought two! I also have Powerex C980 Turbo when I just want to charge up to 8 AA or AAA cells. But the C9000PRO has 3 additional modes that allow me to get a lot more use out of my batteries. The analyze and refresh setting is great for actually improving your batteries' capacity. This charger also allows you to determine the actual capacity of each battery so that you can better match the capacities in a device. I love the feature that Powerex has added to allow us to copy the settings to all slots so that you don't have to enter the same settings 4 times over for 4 cells. This one change makes it so much easier to use! This is the best battery charger yet, bar none and well worth the price given how many alkaline batteries it will save you over the years.

new version the number one rated aa/aaa nimh charger
Powerex MH-C9000PRO released oct 2020 is the new version of the MH-C9000 which has been consistently rated as the best nimh battery charger in most online "top list". it gets this rating for good reason, its simple and lets you choose how you want to charge your batteries. unlike the previous model this updated version no longer has the "cycle" function where you can tell it to cycle your cells a given amount of times. however this isn't really required as "refresh and analyze" run multiple times could do the same. with the new version you do get a much better design, and a light that you Don't have to fiddle with buttons to turn off. what you do get are four simple modes, "Charge" - real simple put your battery in and select your charge rate from 200 milliamp to 2.0 A in 100 milliamp increments "break-in" - after inserting a cell you will have to enter the capacity of the cell. from there the charger applies a 16 hour charge .1C then a 1 hour rest a .2c discharge of the battery, a rest again followed by another .1C charge. C being = to the batteries capacity. this will overcharge the battery to its maximum, any excess being converted to heat, or hydrogen gas bleeding off through the vents. "Discharge" - a simple cycle to discharge the battery and not recharge it, just select your discharge rate. "refresh and analyze" - a very simple charge, discharge, charge cycle at the charging and discharge rate you choose and a capacity will be displayed at the end. the charger does have a 10 milliamp trickle charge while the cycles are finished, except discharge. a bit unnecessary for a low self discharge battery and a 2 hour top off charge of 100 milliamp after the charge cycle cuts off at 1.47 volts. which the cut off could be triggered by the battery temperature. for a 60 - 70 dollar charger its not bad, but the top off charge and trickle charge are not really needed with the new low self discharge batteries. its better then a timer cut off, but could use the ability to stop at the voltage drop. short of spending more then twice as much on the sky rc mc3000 or the slightly cheaper sky rc mc2600 where you can set a charging program custom to what you want, this is about as good as it gets. your only other option would be use an ardunio to build your own charger. with cheap cells being just over a buck and good ones just over 2 bucks is it really worth it when most of the time youll be charging at 500 - 1000 milliamp, I don't think so. so go ahead grab two, you know you'll use them.

Good quality, reliable rechargeable battery Charger / Analyzer. At a good price for it's features.
If you use rechargeable batteries often you need a good charger that also gives a reliable analysis of those batteries that you are using. With this data you can then pair your best performing batteries together and discard the batteries that no longer measure up. The low performing batteries will drag the performance of your better batteries if you paired them together. Further the low performing batteries will use a similar amount of energy in the charging process as your good batteries, but they will not store the same amount of charge so you are wasting energy.

Excellent NiMH and NiCad Charger Analyzer-Charger
I've been using Maha Energy products for many years. I've had an older Maha 4-slot charger for over 10 years and it still works great. The MH-C9000Pro is an excellent tool for charging and reconditioning AA and AAA NiCad and NiMH batteries. The backlit display is clearly visible and is easy to read from several feet away. The backlight can be turned on/off as desired. The unit is easy to use, but does require carefully following the directions the first time. It's not difficult to use, just not intuitive. Charge and discharge rates can be selected for each or all of the slots. However, it still requires that the mode and rates are confirmed as each battery is inserted. The flexibility adds some complexity, and it is not plug and play as my simple old charger is. Batteries need to be inserted one at a time after powering it. The advantage of this analyzer is that it reports the condition of each battery as it goes through a charge or discharge cycle. You know exactly the capacity that each cell has after a complete charge-discharge-recharge cycle. It's interesting to see the variations between brands and individual batteries of the same type. My white Eneloops - now several years old - had the most consistent milliamp hour values that were nearly the same as marked on the label. The Black Eneloop Pro, Kodak, RayOVac, Thunderbolt, and GE/Sanyo batteries showed significant variation and most were below the marked capacity. The Eneloop Pro and Kodak AA batteries improved to nearly full capacity after a refresh cycle. You will get to know exactly which batteries in your collection will provide the best service. After using this for a week I'm very satisfied and recommend it for those who want the most performance from their AA and AAA rechargeable batteries. The only downside is that the unit does not support Lithium batteries. Maybe the next version will support the newer battery technology.

Overrated!
The charger largely does what it states according to specs. The functionality leaves much to be desired. The most frustrating part of this charger is that the display times out too quickly and there appears to be no way to change that or make it stay on. And the mostly vertical orientation of the display. The other thing I dislike equally is after, a Discharge cycle/mode (or any other mode), it does not appear that one could initiate another mode, for example, the Break-in mode without having to disconnect power or remove the batteries and reinserting them all. Tried long pressing different buttons and in different combinations to no avail. Also, If the battery indicates HIGH, the scrolling between the slots halts and remains stuck on HIGH. One would have to remove that specific battery. There is no capability to charge a high resistance battery with this charger. My Tenergy charger can still charge high resistance batteries and still be usable in some devices. Lastly, occasionally, the LCD display segments vanish or become erratic. I've only seen this issue in the Break-in mode when trying to set the capacity of the battery. On one occasion, the charger was stuck and would not respond to any input from the buttons. I took this as an omen to return the unit. Perhaps a warning that imminent failure is likely.

Big help for Rechargeable Battery Users
I went into buying this product off of reading several forum about prolonging the health of my rechargeable batteries. The Powerex came up as an advanced recommendation.( Do not discard of the manual as it has excellent instruction on charging, discharging, and checking battery health and operation) So far I have been able to categorize my batteries by quality/charged capacity thanks to the Powerex - which is when pairing rechargeable

Wonky logic, Failed in 3 months
Looked the most well-made charger on the market, but... 1. Fast charging my eneloop pro AA, it failed to stop even at the set capacity, became so hot the battery blistered 2. A dead cell could discharge in definitely without completing the cycle 3. After 3 months, it kept restarting in 1 min cycles amd finally couldn't power up

you might get the wrong power supply
not sure if the charger is good or not, because I can't use it. I'm in UK and it was sent a power supply with a shaver socket. The daft thing is that the model clearly supports interchangeable heads.

Best Battery Charger/Analyzer Iโve Used
This is by far the best charger/analyzer Iโve ever owned โ even better than my Powerex MH-C9000PRO, MiBOXER C8, and TN438 units. Itโs perfect for conditioning brand-new batteries, keeping stored batteries healthy, and reviving ones that have been abused by family members. I liked it so much that I bought two more almost immediately. Highly recommended for anyone serious about getting the most out of their batteries.
