My son's been wanting a French press for years. I didn't see the point,..but I wanted something to store my coffee in while I clean my Mr. Coffee, I also thought this would be good for camping in our tent trailer... I was a bit nervous about trying something new, thought the directions were vague, but they weren't...it's just easy to use. To my surprise, it did make the best cup of coffee I ever had! Kept the coffee piping hot for a full hour. The measurements on the inside, scoop and cleaning cloth, much appreciated! I'm looking forward to giving it a try for tea. Wanted to say it was not only easy to use, but easy to clean; Not sure why other reviewers wanted to dismantle the entire thing; completely unnecessary. I bought the red one and it's beautiful!

This is solidly made and performs quite well. I love that there are measurement markings on the inside because I rely on them everyday. The screen is good quality and does not allow large grinds through but it is a single screen and there is no way to replace it. That surprised me but I had read so many reviews when researching that I probably "assumed" it too had multiple screens. Don't get me wrong, it does not need anything more than the one but since I cannot loosen a screw to clean it, it requires a little bit of attention to be sure all grinds have been removed in the cleaning process; not a big deal as it only requires rinsing it thoroughly and that is easy to do. This pot is handsome enough to leave out and does a very good job of producing quality coffee. The clip-on spoon is also made well but I soon abandoned it in favor of weighing my grinds to my chosen 11 grams per cup.

Wonderful little pot. Exactly as described. First time using one of these and we are converts. Got rid of our electric coffee pot. Boil your water, pour over grounds and let it steep, push down plunger and pour a cup of Joe. I really like the measuring spoon with handy bag clip and the rag polishes the pot great. A breeze to clean and coffee taste great. Tips: We use four scoops of coffee per 32 oz of water and let it steep for 5 minutes and its perfect for us. Coffee stays hot for 1 hour so far. We don't like super strong coffee. I think it recommends 1 scoop per 4 ounces. I would buy a long neck kettle to heat water. We are using a pan right now and it's fine but can be messy. Enjoy! My first french press. It is AWESOME! Been messing around a little with water to coffee ground ratio, but the recommended usage seems about spot on. makes a strong pot of coffee, about 3-4 cups depending on how big your cups are, but we use 4 cups of water p/brew. Got the plain stainless steel, looks awesome, came with a cleaning cloth to remove finger prints, great if serving company. Came with a scoop that doubles as a bag clip. The press part has the ability to unscrew so you can easily clean screens and parts of coffee grounds. High quality, great construction, and me and my wife love it for Saturday morning coffee. Highly recommend this one, seen cheaper ones made mainly out of plastic, but you won't get nice hot coffee or as nice of a press as this for the same money.

I love this french press! It it makes a great pot of coffee. And the coffee really does stay hot for quite a while. The press component is easy to clean and comes clean with little effort. I like the inside etching that marks off cups in ounces, making it easier to know just how much fluid you have in the container. Just right size for easy portability. It would be perfect it the lid could be screwed down because even though the lid has a twist style top that allows you to block flow of liquid out of the press, it doesn't full occlude the opening, even with lid pressed down as snug as possible. It is too early to know if the red coating will hold up or if it will come off but right now is it a true to ad color that I really like! I also like the added coffee "spoon" measure that has a sturdy clip attached so I just snap it on the coffee bag and don't have to search for it in the drawer.

This French press is great. First of all, it's beautiful, the picture doesn't do it justice, it's a deep shade of metallic red. I've had bad luck with presses before. Glass ones break others were cheaply made and fell apart. This press is hardly expensive and it delivers. It won't break if dropped, the plunger fits snuggly against the wall of the press to prevent coffee grounds from getting in the coffee. It is insulated and stays warm for about a half hour unlike glass presses. It has a very nice metal scoop. I just love it!

Excellent service, excellent product. After just one year my glass french press broke. Even though I loved it, it was too fragile and didn't keep the coffee warm at all. So I replaced it with this stainless steel one in red. It's very pretty and well made, makes just as delicious coffee as my glass one did, and keeps the coffee warmer longer. No plastic parts to worry about and no glass to break! Should last me years I'm thinking. Very pleased with purchase.

I received an R2D2 french press for Christmas that had plastic parts in it. I was a newbie to the french press, so I didn't know that plastic was a terrible idea. If you use a kettle to boil water, it will warp the plastic. After using the R2D2 for a month, I realized I needed a better french press. I took to amazon to research french presses that look as good as they perform. This one does not disappoint. The red stainless french press is beautiful and functional. I love that it's double-walled to keep liquids hot while waiting to press. I also love that it has marks on the inside to indicate liquid height. By the time you combine your coffee with the water, I don't know that it's completely accurate, but it gives you a general idea. It's very easy to clean, and the mesh is tight and sturdy to prevent grounds from getting caught in it. All parts are stainless, so no plastic warping. I also use the microfiber cloth that came with it to dry it and use the coffee scoop. No, the red is not dishwasher safe, but I tend to hand wash my french press anyway. The picture does not do it justice. It's a beautiful shade of deep red that gleams when it's cleaned with the included cloth.
