Easy read for English speakers
Devi Mahatmyam is highly regarded in India as one the best religious books to read and chant. Detailing Durga Devi's origin, the origin of Mahakali and their battles against Mahishasura and Chanda-Munda. There are many miraculous powers associated with reading this book. Even if you don't believe in that, this particular version is good for those well versed only in English and want to get an understanding of the stanzas and their meanings. Highly recommend!

I was so exited for this to arrive and so very disappointed when it did. It looks like someone printed a load of papers, cut them up and glued them together, and they didn't even do a good job of it. It looks like they cut it whilst drunk in the dark or something because it is not straight or book shaped, it is slanted and messy, even the cover and back are misaligned. I am very confused. This doesn't feel sacred like or like it was honoured like it should be. Moreover it is all folded and bent on the spine and in the pages, like it has been through a lot. This hurt my heart.

For anyone who sees the feminine in the Divine, or for someone that thinks they might like to, this book is wonderful. It will give you insight into the Divine Mother. That insight is priceless. This translation is easy to read and has footnotes that are a great help too. Every bhakta should have this scripture. It will help you learn, live and love.
