Good Alternative to OEM at price point!
This a great alternative to Miele's OEM vacuum head.I was looking to replace our OEM vacuum head as it has taken a bit of beating from a few moves, two dogs, a baby and general use. I was just going to buy another one as we liked how it well it held up over the years, but then I saw the price for a new one! They are almost $200 now! Anyhow, I quickly checked for alternatives and came across the Spinlova. This was a fraction of the OEM part's costs, so I figured I would give it a shot and if it didn't work I wasn't out a whole lot. I received it and put it to use right away. First thing I noticed it that you really have to paly with the power settings on the vacuum when using it on carpet. It's not as cut and dry as the OEM one is. If you have thicker carpet, you will definitely need to use a higher power setting to get the brush to keep spinning. On hard surfaces, I do like that it had a bit of a squeegee to it as that helps push items towards the vacuum and the brush.I would have rated this a 5, but the throttling you have to do with the power settings on carpet are rather annoying.

This works
After trying and failing to take apart to clean the Miele (rhymes with Sheila) TurboTeq carpet air powered cleaner, I found and read the mostly favorable reviews on this Splinova cleaner and went ahead and ordered it (with about a $90 savings over the stock item from Miele). It attached very nicely to my wand and after ramping up the suction power on the vacuum (ear saver postion not enough suction power to revolve the brush on a medium pile carpet) it proceeded to clean up the cat hair and other detritus from sock fuz, bits of outside made its way inside by my cats, etc. I do not know how long this will last, but I definitely will not be trying to dismantle it to clean it when it does need it. Will probably just pitch it and buy a new one. I would say buy it, you'll like it, Mikey.

Would not recommend
Spins fast but immediately stops spinning when it hits the carpet no matter what suction setting you have vacuum set to. Tried on medium and low pile. Ineffective with either. Do not waste your time.

A great substitute for your Miele canister vacuum floor tool
I love Miele products, but replacement parts can be pricey. The floor tool that comes with the vacuum is difficult to push on carpet and takes effort because of the drag from the powerful suction. I wanted an upgrade to the floor tool with wheels, but I wasn’t ready to pay over $100 for it. I didn’t know generic replacement parts for Miele existed until I saw this one and decided to take a chance. I was surprised at how well it works with my canister vacuum. It glides nicely over thick carpet and the suction works well to spin the brush. So if you want or need to replace the head cleaner with a cheaper alternative, this is a good one to buy.

Works for a bit then decides to quit
I've used this maybe 25 times or so and it's already stopped functioning. It simply won't spin. Yes, I've cleaned the hair. I did everything possible to fix and after giving up that it was redeemable, I took it apart. I examined the mechanisms in place (a small fan acts as a turbine to spin the wheel), unassembled everything, cleaned everything, and put it exactly back together. Same result, no spin. From what I can tell, the rubber toothed cable stretched. Everything is seated properly but imtheres still slack, so it just spins around the brush without grabbing at all.It worked well for a bit but I should have gotten the name brand head. You live and learn.
