Sultra The Bombshell Rod Curling Iron, Available in 3 Different Sizes, with Protective Heat Glove

My hairdresser used this on me and my curls looked amazing! Naturally, I went home thinking I had to have this product! Luckily, Amazon had it. I got the product super fast and it was in new packaging. Everything was really easy to open. I received the rod curling iron, the glove, and the heat wrap. The iron has only one setting but it works really well and my hair does not appear to be damaged. Of course, I recommend using a heat protection product before using this. I have really very fine straight hair and people usually struggle with trying to get my curls to stay. This iron is so AWESOME! I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE my sexy, big loose curls. My curls held up the first day even without hair spray! I highly recommend practicing with the tool a few times until you get the hang of it to prevent getting burned. The glove does protect you from getting burned but the heat is still prevalent if you set your curl too long. I'm not very good at curling my hair and used to struggle with other curling rods from Hot Tools and Enzo Milano. My hot tools rod just completely died on me even though I barely used it over the last 3 years and the Enzo one didn't give me the same type of curls I was looking for. Seriously if I can do this...anyone can. I used to take hours to curl my hair...now I only take 5-10 minutes! I highly recommend to anyone is a beginner to styling and who wants nice loose curls. So happy I bought this one! Hopefully, it lasts for years!

I had been in the hunt for a curling rod 3/4 curling rod/iron, and this is the best one of all that I tried. I have long hair, so my curls do not hold up well with my larger curling rods unless I used hair spray which I prefer not to. I have always used the 1" and 2", but the result is a loose wave that may end up being flat by the end of the day. This smaller curling rod makes for tight curls, depending on how much hair you add to each section. Less hair per section, will give you tighter curls; more hair will give you looser a beautiful wave. I tend to like the tighter curl because it gives me more volume, and by the end of the day I end up with just beautiful loose waves that last a few days (depending on how deep my sleep is lol). Sometimes I just leave the tight curls which looks really cute, but most of the times after my hair has cooled I run my fingers thru the curls to brake them up and loosen. This curling rod warms up very quickly and its very hot so please be careful and use the provided glove. Because its so hot you don't have to hold each section very long, again, all depending on how much hair per section you are doing. The finished product are beautiful curls that hold up thru a busy day. Love it. Its exactly what I wanted.

This is a MUST have. It's totally worth the money. I have long, fine hair that will not hold a curl, plus I've been flatironing it for years, so that doesn't help. When I curled my hair with a good old clip curling iron it was a process that took at least 40 minutes, required a ton of hairspray both before and after, and then the curls would fall within a few hours. I read a bunch of reviews about different irons and was hesitant to spend this much money on an iron. But I figured I'd give it a try. And it blew me away. I watched the videos on the website and those are definite must-watch before you try it. And you need the glove. It took me a few times to get used to it and see how my hair would take to the curl. I found I need to hold my hair around the iron a bit longer since it's so fine, but I can get my entire head curled in under 7 minutes and it holds ALL day and looks amazing, plus I can sleep on it and it's STILL curly in the morning. Like celebrity hair. It's amazeballs.

Unless you are a professional hair stylist, or, are experienced at using clipless curling irons, I would veer away from the Bombshell. It is the best clipless curling iron out there; but, it lends itself to user error because it requires extreme finesse. It gets much hotter than a normal curling iron and the provided glove is not much protection. I had to have the Bombshell after a hair stylist used it on my hair for my wedding. It creates amazing results; but, it can be very, very dangerous for a novice or anyone not respecting the heat this curling iron packs. One wrong move, and, you could end up like me, with a long diagonal scar across the front of your neck. This clipless iron can be tricky to use, especially close to the nape of the neck, because it is held differently than a regular curling iron. Please be careful never to touch the rod to try to catch the very ends of the curls, even when wearing the glove. Clipless curling irons tend to take a bit longer to slightly wiggle out of your hair when trying to get tightly wrapped curls. So, if you involuntarily jerk away because a finger gets too hot when holding down the end of a curl, just remember, that extra split second the rod is stuck in your hair matters.

Love, love, love this curling wand. My hair is fine and it's usually rather hard to get it to hold a curl. Plus I was causing a lot of damage using a regular curling iron - always breaking my hair and causing heat damage. This wand is quicker to me than the regular curling iron and it actually seems to smooth out my hair so that it's shiny - it can look like straw before I start and by the time I'm done I have pretty, soft waves with no frizz whatsoever. If I put my hair up in a loose bun at night, the curl is still good the next day with just a bit of touching up.It does get really hot (that's what the glove is for, though) and there's a bit of a learning curve to getting the technique down, but I don't use anything else now and it's the only styling tool I take on trips. I liked it so much that I bought one for my daughter-in-law for Christmas and she loves hers as well.

Leaves large, pretty curls on my pin straight hair. My hair is fine and poker straight, but I have a lot of it. The curls loosened up almost immediately, but I preferred it that way for the look I was going for. The loose waves lasted all night WITHOUT hairspray. MUST use a heat protector spray because there is only one temperature setting. Not sure what the degree value is exactly, but I'll tell you it is really hot and the glove they give you doesn't work well to protect your fingers. Anyone who has said you need to take this curler on a few test runs before your night out is right... it takes some practice to establish a working technique. I did not give it 5 stars because my hair had a burnt smell for days after using it, however, from my past experiences with harsh chemical perms and other heating tools, I know the only way to get curls to stay in resistant hair is literally to burn the shaft to the point where it's malleable enough to hold a different shape. I guess I should have seen that coming. Regardless, it's a small sacrifice considering how great the results are. Definitely worth the price.

I've had my trusty Revlon 1.5 inch curling iron since high school (10 years!). It always worked fine, but not great. My long, fine hair would go lifeless after a few hours, but I thought that was normal. When I stumbled upon all the amazing reviews for the Sultra, I was pretty intrigued. Everyone claimed quick movie star curls that last for days. I stalked it for a few weeks, balking at the price. Finally I broke down & bought it when the price dropped to $123, and let me tell you... IT'S WORTH IT. Truly, amazing. It is lighter than my old curler, yet gets crazy hot crazy fast, and somehow my hair feels even better after using it. Smooth, bouncy curls like a movie star. (Um, Connie Britton hair!!) My best friend kept joking I looked like Taylor Swift all night. The next day, the curls turned in to big, soft mermaid waves. On the third day, it still looked good! I have NEVER been so happy with such an expensive product. Usually the cheaper products work just as well as designer/more expensive products, but in this case, you truly do get higher quality. I would have paid even more for these results. So grateful to have found this.

I originally wrote a review giving The Bombshell one star because, even though I love this curling iron, it completely stopped working recently after only one year of use. I was wishing I would have bought it directly from Sultra so that I could have registered it for a warranty. But I emailed Amazon to see if there was anything they could do to replace it. They responded the next day and are going to send me a replacement! Needless to say, I'm very satisfied with the customer service. I really do love this curling iron too. My curls last all day and I get a lot of compliments on my hair. The glove is kind of weird at first, but once you get use to it it's really easy to use. I'm not a morning person at all, I literally get out of bed 20 minutes before I have to leave for work. The Bombshell has saved me because I can just take 2 minutes to put it through my hair and it looks like I spent a lot longer on my curls.

I used my curling iron for over a year without issues, but then I had a loose wire that caused the iron to turn off when it was titled a certain way. I reached out to Sultra and they sent me a new one, however it was the incorrect barrel size (too small) and they are now sending me the correct curling iron and even told me I could keep the other one. Great support and customer service! I will definitely buy from them again. Top quality hair products at a great price!

This rod is amazing. The curls actually last! However there is no temp control and it seems to dry my hair a little. It also takes a while to fully heat up. I like that it turns itself off after 30 minutes just in case I forget. Comes with a glove and mat to set it on.

It’s over priced. Was expecting it to be really good but it’s like any other hair curler.

I never write amazon reviews but this wand is a game changer. I hemmed and hawed bc at $200 it’s pricey, but it is so worth it in the money I’ll save not getting professional blowouts. I can get exactly the “undone,” loose wave I am always trying to describe to stylists at the salon by myself at home now. Dry my hair straight, and the Sultra works super fast to get the waves done. I wasn’t sure if the 1-inch was the right size to buy but it’s perfect for my long hair. As another reviewer suggested, I divide my hair in half along my center part and do one side, then the other, so that I don’t need to keep switching the glove from side to side (def need to wear the glove, wand gets extremely hot). Waves last days also!

This was my first curling wand I've ever used. It definitely took some time to figure out how to maneuver it, but once I figured it out, it easily and quickly created beautiful curls. I ran my fingers through the curls and suddenly I had bombshell hair! The only downside would be that my curls didn't last :( I used to use a straightener to curl my hair and I didn't even need hairspray for nthe curls to last all day long. And now, even with hairspray they don't hold more than a few hours. Definitely dissapointed considering this curling iron had such great reviews.
