Ableton Grooves: Programming Basic and Advanced Grooves with Ableton Live (Quick Pro Guides)

Great product for those who want to start understanding groove and how create more human percution. I recommend this book read it before any other book about ableton. Solid.

Really good book with a lot of great tips, the DVD worked fine for me, no problems there. I'd buy it without the DVD myself, just to be able to program the beats myself and really master the material. There's all kinds of Ableton drum groove in various styles and the world section is very interesting. I'd recommend this and Ray F. Badness book on Drum Programming as well.

The book looks good but the DVD with the lesson files does not work. When I tried to extract the zip file I get an error message "file is invalid". There is no physical issue with the DVD. Am returning the book.

dvd didn't work book useless without it

Davvero un bel libro per imparare a creare file midi da zero con Ableton Live 10. Ci sono tantissimi esercizi da svolgere per creare file midi in diversi stili musicali (Rock,....). Lo consiglio perché ti spiega tutto e ti fornisce sia gli strumenti (i suoni degli strumenti utilizzati nel libro ed il relativo "Rack") e i file waw di confronto (dove per file di confronto intendo il risultato finale a cui ambire in ciascun dei tanti esercizi in cui ti viene sempre richiesto di creare un file midi da zero) in un Cd allegato. Insomma un percorso da zero per imparare a creare dei file midi con diversi stili musicali. Davvero un bell'acquisto.

This book is alright, the author does not talk about each style of drumming, he just shows you a picture of loops he made. I was hoping the book would go in detail about each drumming style and what makes it unique and how you can create more of the same style. Also most the examples are for rock drums, seriously? most users would program dance/R&B/Dubstep drums, there are only 5 examples for the dance drums. I was pretty disappointed with how little use it did for me since I make ambient electronic music. I gotta say the included drum packs are pretty nice, and sound great so that's the plus side of it!
