Very safe for a beginner, does not shoot all arrows
The circle in the handle, designed to make it easier for a young child to shoot an arrow works great but requires that the arrows have a specific feather pattern on the ends. If you buy additional arrows for this bow, be sure the feather pattern (i.e. two or three feathers) matches the arrows that came with the bow.

Not high quality, but a fun toy for a first set
I bought this for my 7 year old daughter and she loves it. I appreciate the shoot-through feature as it has given her a lot of encouragement. She asks to shoot every day after school now. My main complaint is the quality -- we haven't owned it for even an entire week and she broke the knock off of one arrow and the tip pulled off the other. I suppose you get what you pay for, but really, there are cheaper sets and I can't imagine anything worse than things falling apart within a few days. I'm hoping she can advance to a better quality one before we have to buy a second set of refills (I purchased one separately from this transaction).

Hunter Dan Bow Set
Bought this bow for our 6 year old son. He loves it but we do not. The string on it is weak and stretched with in ten shots. It is a shoot threw design that is not very clearly stated in the add.
