Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary on the Whole Bible: His Classic Writings. ...

Great supplement to the bible. Great to have and I recommend having it.

Have been using this as part of my Bible studies. The commentaries have helped me to understand the Bible much more clearly and with clarity. The commentary is easy to understand and written in such a manner that the commentaries are helping me in my studies. Am excited to have this as part of my materials for resources and answers to questions.

I value this book not only because of it's content, but also because of its size and the style in which it is written. The size does not overwhelm me like other aids I've bought. It's easy to hold and I can quickly find the reference for which I'm looking. Henry's book - at least the one I purchased - is very user friendly. The style is straight forward and easy to understand. I'm a very literal thinker so the way this book is written does not cause me to go "tilt" trying to figure out what he is conveying. Just as the cover states - it is easy to read, it is outlined chapter by chapter -- all in one book. I believe it would be good for beginning student's of the Bible as well as for seasoned teachers and seasoned people who enjoy studying the Bible. Definitely a great resource tool. I also think it would be a good help for non-believers who study the Bible, for students researching for reports, etc. It appears to give very straight explanations that would not cause controversy for any reader, student, researcher. Supplements included in the Matthew Henry Commentary include:Fulfilled prophecies of the Messiah, harmony of the gospels, the Jewish calendar, maps and other documentations to help one understand the timeline in the Bible. Time truly gets away from me when I wander through the verses, the maps, timelines, etc. imagining what it was like "back then" but it also makes me so grateful for the "now" of time for us.

Glad I Hv One Of These Now! Written 300+ Years Ago So It Is Not Influenced By Any Modern Religious Philosophy, Fads Or A Televangelist's Theories. This Is The Real Deal And You'll Be Blessed Reading It. The English It's Written In Is Somewhat Unlike Modern English But You Catch On To The Sentance Structure After A Bit. There Are Typo Errors Throughout And Some Seem Dubiously Intentional But Typos Are Not On Every Page. Well Made, Durably Bound, Great Gift!

Great commentary. Bought for a friend.

This book was highly recommended by people who should know and I trust, however, this wasn't exactly what I was looking for, but it is good reading. It's more like a sermon vs. a study guide. NOW, some people were complaining about the print quality. I honestly don't know what they mean, mine is perfect, plus large enough print for these old eyes to read. I'll use it and with an open mind, I figure I'll get out of it what I put into it, if that makes sense.

Wish I could give more stars! It is very clear & easy to read / understand, giving a deep & helpful insight into the Bible. Plus, despite Henry having written it 300 years ago, it is as up-to-date as necessary for today's world. I have read that it is the most popular Commentary
