i weigh 200lbs. Will this float me

I am not sure this will float you my husband is 170 and he was having a hard time staying afloat.

Yes, you should be able to float while paddling but it may not be very stable for popping up. We would recommend a 10ft board for you

This is the perfect board for a beginner. It's a longboard, but fairly short for a longboard at 8 feet. It has great floatation, which helps you catch waves, and is easy to paddle. The length and the volume of the board are made for a beginning surfer, especially if you are dealing with smaller waves.

Can you transport this on J kayak racks?

I would not. Strap it down, bottom side up, the top skin will bubble if left exposed to the sun
