I purchased the blue & white sugar bowl with the spoon, not the rooster bowl. I am not sure if they are the same. The blue & white sugar bowl is not airtight. The lid sits nicely on the bowl but it has a little open notch on the edge for the spoon.

Is it microwave/dishwasher safe?

Not sure, I wash by hand. Love the way it looks on my counter by the coffee pot.
