Worth every penny for reassurance it gives. Brilliant customer service if it goes wrong.
Bought this more for when I was away as pet sitter doesn’t always see two of my three moggies. It’s great as I can check that they’re going in and out so I know they’re around somewhere! The first one was faulty and it drove my friend and I scatty as we couldn’t work out if it was WiFi signal or we’d done something wrong. Customer services were excellent. Did a zoom type call following her instructions so she could see what we were doing. Two minutes and she told us a replacement was on the way. I have app on mobile and iPad and my cat sitter could clog his phone with the app too. Only negative is that battery indicator went from full to needing replacing in less than a week but the app warns you. Batteries still keep going for several days even with 3 cats. My boy is BIG and he can get through it easily. I like that I could stop any or all of them going out good but not had to use it. It’s been interesting seeing their individual routines too. Setting up needs to be 2 person job really even using Dreamies as cat has to be out coming in but control buttons on the inside. They were wary of new device! If your cat likes looking through the flap the constant clicking might be annoying. Reassuring to know where they are and app tells you how long they were out and you can get a day by day comparison of each cat. Bottom line? I love it, pet sitter is reassured and cats don’t care as long as they can get in and out on demand.

Absolutely worth the high price tag if you’re a worrier like me!
This very fancy cat flap sat on our worktop for a couple of weeks whilst we waited for a new glass door panel to be made with a hole in it - but it was finally installed yesterday! Now (after a little bit of cajoling and training) we have a very happy and much more independent cat, with the added comfort of knowing we can keep an eye on her very much more easily than with a traditional cat flap. The app seems to work absolutely brilliantly. At bedtime last night I was able to fully lock the flap from upstairs using my phone as soon as she came in and I reopened it this morning at 6am. My son and I loved walking to school just now knowing that during that time our cat came in from being out, went out again, came back in again etc. Apparently just a second ago “An animal looked through the cat flap - Peekaboo!”. It’s good to know that whilst it’s being checked out (probably by the grumpy tabby that’s not so sure about this newcomer to the neighbourhood) no one else can come in because this is our microchipped cat’s home and safe place. I never normally write reviews but this is a very expensive product and I know I would have liked as much reassurance as possible before committing that I would be worth it. For peace of mind and ease of use so far it has to be a 10/10. Knowing we can lock the flap remotely once our cat is safe inside was the seller for us. So far, absolutely the right decision.

Great it but losses curfew
I really like this cat flap, it gives me a lot of reassurance when I’m away from home, I know the cat is still going in and out of the door. The Curfew feature is great, but also its achilles heel. Besides the cost, it does have two major drawbacks: 1. It uses 6 C sized batteries and they last a few months only. 2. The Curfew feature occasionally suddenly clears itself. If you think you can rely on the catflap being locked at a particular time, most of the time it does, but for some reason it will suddenly forget all it’s curfew and clear them from memory it’s not related to batteries.

bad design
The door will not open using the microchip because the shoulder blades are too far away from the receiver. The door will not open with the supplied RFID tag attached to my dogs collar. Too far away. The door works intermittently it I hold the RFID tag against ONLY the MIDDLE of the clear door. USELESS

Extremely Poorly Designed Hub With Very High Battery Usage - Otherwise A Great Pet Door
This does exactly what it reports to, I upgraded my old non Wi-Fi Sureflap Pet Door with this Wi-Fi version purely for the ease of setting the curfews / lock times on my phone, it does this as expected, and was an exact same size to replace the already cut hole in my back door. I have given it 3 stars purely because the supplied connection hub has to be hard wired to ethernet which is easier said than done, and is terribly poor at staying connected with the door, at first I connected it in my front room which was around 15 feet from the door with a wooden door and window for the signal to travel through, but it was always disconnecting, and those stupid ear warning lights are good when it works, but cannot be turned off completely, and flash red constantly everytime it loses signal or updates even when you have turned the ears off in the app, I repositioned the hub to the kitchen and the even though the hub is now 5 feet away from the door in a clear line of sights it still loses connection regularly, it is hard wired into my TP-Link mesh Wi-Fi hub (I have 4 hubs) so the problem is not my Wi-Fi signal, it is the poor connection capability of the hub and door to stay connected with each other. The good thing is that when it loses connection the door still operates normally. Lastly, it EATS batteries and 4 x C Cell batteries every 2 months is not acceptable (I am using Philips Ultra or Duracell Intense) and this is very expensive, my old door, which is exactly the same but without Wi-Fi, the same batteries from the same pack would last at least 6 months sometimes even 9 months (I write the date on batteries when installing to check longevity)

Badly made
Good idea, but poor execution. The magnets that are supposed to pull the flap back to closed position are way too weak - if there's any wind outside, which is almost always in our area, then they fail to pull the flap back enough for the catches to work... Also, the sealing is very poor, there is about a 1mm, some part 1.5mm gap between the flap and the frame, which causes a constant draft around the pet door... If they fixed these two issues, it would be a great product....

Great combination of a gadget and functionality.
Over many months me and partner have been debating whether to buy smart cat door or just cat door. I didnt want extra clutter lying around as that would be yet another gadget to dust. We went with his opinion to get the smart one and I have to say it is very handy to have the option. We can see when the cat came it or out, un/lock the flap remotely, check his habits and how many hours he spends outside. When we are away we can see whether our cat returned home so we know he is safe. The design is good and seems to be well made though it is not cheap we got ot on a deal so saved a but of money, it does what is says on the tin and had no problems with it. The only downside is changing the batteries, the first round lasted only 3 months.

Smart flap indeed!
I honestly can’t understand where there are so many negative reviews on this Pet Door Connect. I can only assume it’s people who don’t understand how short wave communication works. Truthfully, I’ve had this installed nearly a month and I’ve not run into a problem. I wanted a smart flap that I can control remotely, which is exactly what this allows me to do. The little flashing eared hub is great as it’s sat in my living room and flashes when the flap has activity, so I can see if my cat is coming or going without even having to look at the notifications. Please, just make sure, if you’re using this, understand that the hub does not connect to the flap with Wi-Fi, it has its own short wave communication, which is fine, providing it doesn’t get too much interference. I work in communications so understand what may make drop outs happen, but mine has to communicate through 3 walls, a fridge freezer and my smart meter and I’ve had no issues. My cat took a few days to get used to it, but he had never had a flap before so it was more the novelty. Some cats may not like the clicking as the microchip unlocks/locks the door, but mine thankfully isn’t put off by it and I don’t notice it myself. Flap is well made, and I’ve had no draft issues as the insulation around the sides does as it’s meant to. Just don’t expect to put it on a door in the prevailing wind and then moan that it blows open, you need to be logical, or place a pot or two in front to stop this from happening. Even my cat flap fitter said this was the best on the market and thoroughly recommended it. My neighbour has even gone and got one after I spoke so highly of it. Definite 5* from myself and Biscuit!

Funktioniert tadellos, dank App sehr komfortabel
Top.

Life is easier for both cat and us.
We have only one cat and his Australian micro chip is working fine. Life is much easier with it, for both cat and us. It's been 3 months and Battery didn't drop yet.

dimension

Best purchase for our cats 🐈
Love this product! Our cats really seem to enjoy having their own door! It was a little bit lengthy to install the product and get it to work ( we found Metall panels in our door) but their customer service was super helpful and now it works perfectly. They have a few custom modes they don’t tell you about in the user manual but with the slightest doubt or question you can easily contact their service and get answers. I love that I can track our cats through the app on the phone and even set a curfew time, not having to worry about the cats being locked out at night because it’ll still let them in, just not out ( you can of course change the settings and not let them in(?) but why would you) Really happy to be able to sleep at night knowing my cats can come inside even if they decided to go out later that night and not being woken up at 5 am on the weekends because they want to go out. Not to mention not having to open the door 1gizillion times a day!!! Love and truly recommend this product even if it’s a bit on the pricier end it’s really worth putting a little extra towards it.
