My Apple TV - HD fit just fine after I slid out the insert designed to make it fit any generation of Apple TV.

The TotalMount for Apple TV is a simple but extremely effective solution for keeping my setup clean and organized. In the garage I have a TV on a wall mount and AppleTV as the sole source for content. I wanted to mount the AppleTV on the back of the TV for the minimalist option. I found the TotalMount when searching Amazon and it looked like it would fit the bill. I was concerned about which generation of AppleTV would fit as many of the mounts you will find on Amazon only work for the older mount. What was not obviously, but welcome surprise, is the TotalMount is completely compatible with both generations as it includes an “insert” that adapts the smaller newest generation to the mount. Good: 1. Mount works with all generations of AppleTV 4K. 2. Mount includes a large piece of high quality double sided tape already cut to fit and installed. Pro tip: use a heat gun or hair dryer to warm up both the tape and surface for the best possible adhesion. 3. Extremely easy and fast installation, no instructions required. Bad: 1. One of the more expensive AppleTV mounting options, but I think the quality, construction, and compatibility justify the price. 2. The mount does not hold the AppleTV in all directions. Basically only one supported orientation which is vertical wall mount with cords either pointing up or down. Mounting the AppleTV horizontally on the ceiling or even horizontally on a vertical wall will not work. You could experiment with taping the AppleTV into the unit to hold it in these other orientations.

INITIAL REVIEW: Followed all the instructions but on the third day, I heard a crashing sound and sure enough the adhesive had failed. I’m lucky my Apple TV didn’t break. Very disappointed. UPDATE: After emailing the manufacturer, they quickly agreed to replace the item and gave good advice on finding a good spot and letting the adhesive cure longer than what the instructions indicated. I believe what caused the failure was I put it on the bump out portion of the TV that heats up, and the 3M adhesive didn't like the heat (although supposedly it is heat resistant). Or perhaps I should have let it cure a full day as the customer service rep later recommended. After the mount fell down I quickly re-stuck it to the cool part of the TV and left it for a couple of days. When I checked on it, it was adhered solidly. Unfortunately, in my haste, I had reattached it upside down so I had to remove it, which was near impossible even though the same adhesive had initially failed. I finally pried it off with a butter knife and attached it with the clip method. So, some of this was my fault but I advise leaving it for a full day and sticking it a cool, flat , clean part of the back of your TV. And make sure it is right side up! Kudos to the manufacturer for writing back to me not once but twice. You can buy this product safely and it works great.

This is good quality for what it is and securely holds our appletv. It kinda pops in so it wont easily slide out too easily or wobble. The only problem is that in order for the Appletv to work, the remote needs to be able to directly reach the reciever - from mounted behind the tv it is blocked and doesn't work. I was hoping to not drill into the wall or have it visible. My workaround was to peel off the 3M tape (which would destroy the wall), use a command strip and mount to the wall just below the tv so the reciever/remote could still work. It worked and no cords!

This was perfect for a wall mount tv where I have Apple TV connected. Wanted Apple TV affixed to back of tv. This was a much better option than command strips.

Great buy. Delivery was quick. Detail information and specs in description was great The instructions were easy to follow. Installation was quick. Placed this badboy on the back of the TV. I wish they had a combo available that included the Apple remote mount. Great price.

Super easy install using self-stick backing to rear of TV. Just plan your cabling out before sticking mount to set. (Makes a good time to clean uo your wiring back there anyway...). Be sure your HDMI cables are the latest rating.

Ich habe zwei von diesen Halterungen für ein Apple TV 4K und ein Apple TV HD gekauft. Beide Halterungen haben sich problemlos mit den mitgelieferten Kunststoffhaken in die Kühlschlitze auf der Rückseite meiner Loewe-Fernseher einhängen lassen. Gibt es keine Kühlschlitze, die zum Einhängen der Halterung geeignet sind, kann die Halterung mit einem mitgelieferten Klebepad an geeigneter Stelle direkt auf die Rückseite des Fernsehers geklebt werden. Alternativ kann die Halterung auch direkt an die Wand hinter dem Fernseher geschraubt werden. Mitgeliefert wird ein Kunststoffeinsatz, mit dem es möglich ist, auch dünnere, ältere Apple TVs sicher in der Halterung unterzubringen. Trotz des hohen Preises für ein bisschen Kunststoff bin ich von der Halterung begeistert, da sich mit ihr die Apple TV Hardware praktisch "unsichtbar" hinter dem Fernseher verstecken lässt, ohne den Fernseher hierbei zu beschädigen.
