Seems accurate and easy to use
No problem in sighting a target and then seeing the reading in the viewfinder. Latching on to targets verified with press-button activated reticle (circle/dot with options) and varies according to reflectivity, density, and colour/tone, but it seems very reliable in distinguishing non-moving, contrasty and solid objects such as built objects, tree trunks, and rock formations against the generalised landscape. In limited testing, the device never failed to find a selected target that you might ordinarily use to measure non-moving target distances. I haven't encountered anything to suggest that longer-distanced targets might prove less reliable. Genuine glass 6 x magnification of 24mm wide-angle field of view lens with multi-coated optics to repel water and enhance clarity. Rated IPX4 'water resistant'. Good low-light capability with large viewfinder with extra brightness through the large viewfinder. Switches itself off automatically after a short time of non-use. Battery could last for up to a year perhaps, but get a rechargeable 3v-CR2 and a charger for a few bucks more at an electronics shop. Has ability to use standard too so keep one as a backup when travelling. Good value if all you need is the rangefinder function, although also includes + and - elevation from viewpoint to target. Perfectly suited to photographic uses with imperial or metric measurements.
