I have grey hair, and I haven't used any purple shampoo in a long time, and I put this mask on after a normal shampoo and rinse. It is thick and doesn't drip. I left it on for close to the 15 minutes or a tad longer and then rinsed it out. It rinses out clean and easily. It didn't stain my skin or tub. It brightened my grey so much and my dark silver became much more silvery. My hair was NOTICEABLY softer too! I did have to wash my hair once again after applying, because my white hair turned a bit purplish color, but it rinsed out mostly after the 2nd shampoo. I'm very pleased with the results! I cannot get over how the frizzies are gone, and my hair is so much softer.

Alot of these products don't tone or color condition grey, only blonde. I have grey with old color lightened as well during grow out. This toned it all gray/silver on the 1st use for 3 to 5 mins on wet hair. Hair is not dried out, scalp is normal color, hair did not take on purple color. Hair is fine in texture.

probably the best stuff ive ever used. i diy bleached my hair but it was so yellow/orange. even after a second bleach it was still yellow. i have regular purple shampoo that did nothing. and toner didnt help. shampoo for blondes didnt do anything...... ONE use of this stuff and my hair was the exact color i was trying to achieve without the toner. silver ashy with no yellow. and it only took a little bit one time 10/10 it works

The lighter your hair, the more evident the effect of the color toning will be. I have bleached hair that is orange with paler yellow ends. I found the toning worked best when I applied the mask to clean, dry hair. Work it throughout as best you can, then add just little handfulls of water to help it fully spread. I also added another conditioner I have that is kind of runny, which helped spread it around in my hair. I put a shower cap over it and have left it for 5 minutes and 15 minutes. 5 minutes had a subtle change, mostly on the lighter hair. 15 minutes did a pretty good job toning everything! I rinse thoroughly and then apply just a little shampoo to get it fully out. When you rinse it out, it will make your tub slippery and the purple will be in the water, so make sure to rinse your tub well. The mask tints your hands purple very slightly, stops being noticeable after a couple washings. The toning on the hair seems to last around 3-6 washings. The mask has an herbal scent (not too unpleasant) that sticks with you for at least the first day. Regardless of if your hair color tones or not, the mask DOES make your hair soft and smoother. I am using roughly 6 Tbsp. or so each use, and it looks like I will get about 5 uses out of this container. But my hair is darker, so I need to use more - lighter hair could get more applications out of it.

Kept in my hair for 15 minutes. It got rid of the yellows on my yellow bleached section but didn’t help much with the orange bleached section. It also seemingly dyed parts of my hair purple; this is after just one wash.

Easy and amazing results! I'm finally growing in my lovely warm gray long curls, but the beautiful blending highlights my stylist gave me on top of my colored light brown was all getting TOO warm (yellow and orange) over time. Rather than trying to book an appointment for toning/glossing, or experimenting with at-home versions, I gave this a try. So glad I did! Used gloves and an old shower curtain to protect my area (just like if I was coloring) but so much faster, AND better for my hair, and the colors came out perfect - including my grays! Some of the older (whiter) pieces had a purple tint that came out with the first wash a day later. To save time, I plan to mix some in with my regular conditioner and adjust as needed - giving me the control I love for the color. I just wish I had taken before and after to share!

This leaves your hair with a lovely tone and gets rid of the yellow naturally. The conditioner itself leaves your hair very silky.
