Works great for college!
It works great for a college student! I bought it because I live in a 4 bedroom apartment. I live with 3 other girls who fill the fridge like crazy! I saw this fridge on sale for $300! I went and bought it asap. Works like a charm. I cook a LOT and I bake. Fills everything I cook perfectly fine! I cook large portions too and make snacks. I also use it to store my canning products like pumpkin puree. Its aesthetic in my room. I wanted red, but im kind of glad I got black. The helpers were great! I didnt get any dints as far as I know. They didn't help take off the cardboard though. Wouldve been nice if they did. Its all good though! They also couldn't stay for me to review the dints before accepting it. Thats understandable. The extra help was necessary since I'm a female and I live on the second floor. I originally wanted this outside, but I realize you have to get a specialty fridge for that plus it seems like this fridge is fragile to dints. It also might not be a good investment if you move a lot. I worry about the denting. Also I appreciate galanz for keeping their fridges very slender. It helps for keeping it in small places! Again, perfect for a college student! One upside about moving is if its an apartment that is without a fridge I have a nice sturdy fridge to use. If it does have a fridge, this galanz fridge is slender enough to fit anywhere aesthetically!

Don't Know Why I Hesitated - Perfect From Delivery To Installation!
Buy an unfamiliar brand refrigerator through Amazon? Am I crazy? What if it doesn't work right? What if it's too tiny? What if it's cheaply made? What if it looks cheap? What if it doesn't stand the test of time? What if arrives dented or defective? What do I do? How hard is it to return? All Excellent questions. Which is why I hesitated to buy this adorable, retro looking refrigerator. In the end, however, I shouldn't have worried. Everything about this Galanz refrigerator is perfect: Delivered in perfect condition. Perfect size, visually. Ample interior room for short term rental use. Looks amazing. Works like a champ. Excellent warranty. BOTTOM LINE: Amazon makes buying a refrigerator easy. The delivery process is professional & efficient. And the Galanz 10 CU. FT. refrigerator is perfect in every way. If you're hesitating to buy, don't.

Great Looking Retro Refrigerator That's A Piece of Garbage! Bought 8 Months Ago and Trouble Already!
UPDATE: I wish I could give this a zero or less! I have had the refrigerator for about 8 months and now the refrigerator section is just cool, not even cool enough to be safe for the food I have in there. I guess all the people that wrote bad reviews about this were right. I like the look of it but the looks don't keep my food cold. So, if you want an 8-month refrigerator that looks nice then this is the one to get. The freezer section is working great. Everything is frozen solid just like others have said. I am totally disappointed with this refrigerator! Please BELIEVE THE REVIEWS SO THAT YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED! If someone is giving this a five-star review they probably just purchased it. You need to look for reviews from someone who has owned it for a couple of years. The light in the refrigerator also went out 2 days after I started using it. The other thing that I don't like is that it is open at the bottom. The wires are just hanging out. This doesn't seem right at all! A rodent or a kitten could get in there and chew on things or mess with something. I think it is obvious that the area should be covered. Now I will have to figure out how I will cover it. It comes in a box with very thin styrofoam to protect it which must be why people keep getting damaged ones. The other thing that does worry me quite a lot is that there are warnings on the back of it saying that it could explode. I spent quite a bit of time online trying to find out how likely it is that my refrigerator will explode. I suppose refrigerators have been exploding for years but I never knew it was a possibility until I saw it on the back of this fridge. I can't afford to have even part of my house destroyed because of an exploding refrigerator, and I don't want to be killed or injured by an exploding fridge either. I bought the extended warranty plan because of all the bad reviews. When I complained to Amazon about the refrigerator they filed a claim with Asurion for me. I didn't think I would get anything because that warranty isn't supposed to go into effect until the manufacturer's warranty expires. However, they gave me an Amazon credit right away for $425. With all the taxes and everything the refrigerator cost $450 plus the $57.99 for the warranty so I am still out $83 and I still have a refrigerator that doesn't work. I don't feel like the whole thing is right because the manufacturer provides a one-year warranty and they didn't do anything about fixing the frig. What if I didn't pay extra for the three-year warranty? I probably wouldn't have gotten anywhere. When I did try to contact Galanz first they gave me a big runaround just like others have said. They wanted at least 6 or 7 pieces of information, like a number that is supposed to be between the prongs on the cord, the year the refrigerator was made etc. If you are going to buy this frig I guess you should get the extended warranty so that you can at least get an Amazon credit when the thing breaks down. I still feel cheated because I rarely ever shop at Amazon but now I will have to shop at Amazon to use my credit. I really just wanted to get my refrigerator fixed or get cash back. Another thing is that the $425 credit they gave me isn't enough to buy the refrigerator again because it has gone up about $200. They didn't compensate me for the value of the food that I had to throw out either. The whole thing isn't right and it is unsettling. I would never buy a Galanz product again! I am very pleased with the Asurion warranty, however.

Perfect size for our Veranda!
Love the size and retro look of this refrigerator/freezer. It was shipped to the us here in the midwest via CEVA Logistics and arrived in perfect condition so cudos to the shipper! We bought the Galanz to use outside on our veranda which faces south, and even with high humidity and temps in the upper 80s this week it's kept everything nice and cold... to cold actually. You can set the temp between 5 settings, with 1 being the warmest and 5 being the coldest. We actually had to decrease the cool setting from the default setting of 3 up to 2 as the pop in the back of the refrigerator started freezing. According to a refrigerator thermometer I purchased, on a setting of 3 the refrigerator was getting down to 28-29 degrees. The 2 setting seems to be perfect with the temp around 34-36. Even though this unit is not outdoor rated, it's on a covered veranda so not in direct sunlight and it will never get wet as that area stays nice and dry even in major thunderstorms. For winter we'll disconnect it and cover it with a custom fit cover from coversandall, so I'm expecting it to last for quite a while. In summary, we're very happy with our purchase and have gotten quite a few compliments on the refrigerator's retro style and color from our friends.

Mostly in love…
Unfortunately, like many others, my refrigerator arrived with a dent. Fortunately it’s on the right rear corner and doesn’t show once the fridge is in its alcove. Still, with all the issues reported steps should be taken to either pack these smaller models better, or ship them with more care. 🤷🏼♀️ One other issue, the screw holes in the door handles weren’t all big enough for the screws, so I had to Dremmel them out. Kind of a pain in the butt, and hard to deal with if you don’t have the right tools. On the upside, it’s just stinkin’ adorable. I love the way it looks! It’s exactly what I wanted. It cooled down quickly, and has more space inside than you might think. So it’s doing its job super well and looking good while doing it.

Just Buy It
I was looking at this fridge for about 6 months before I saw it go on sale for half price. I read a lot of reviews saying that they arrived with dents or other delivery problems. Fortunately for me, the fridge arrived in perfect condition and it was 10 X better than I dreamed it would be. I got the 10 cubic feet and it was so big that I'm glad I didn't order the 12. It's wide and tall, like a regular fridge. So freaking beautiful that I smile every time I see it. Do yourself a favor and pay the extra $20 to have them bring it up to your kitchen. Your back and sanity are worth $20. Cannot say enough about my delivery team. They made sure everything was good before they left. Also make sure you leave the fridge for 24 hours before turning it on, so the fluids in the back can settle and you don't wreck the motor. Just buy it. You'll be so glad you did.

Cold and quiet!
Bottom line: we love it. It is cold and quiet! I purchased it through Amazon and it was shipped by Amazon. It arrived in perfect condition, delivered by JB Hunt. Unpacking was easy. A few quirky, one-off issues: I kept finding broken glass in the bottom after repeated cleanings. Where was it coming from??? The bottom glass shelf that serves as the roof of the storage bin seems to have been broken and replaced. However, some glass was stuck in the mounting slot for the shelf. I cleaned it out and all was fine. The good news, the glass was shatter proof, so no sharp shards……also the shelf had been replaced. At least it didn’t arrive with a broken shelf! My other problem was that the screws for the handles did not fit properly. I’m still trying to get replacements from Galanz. They have seemed to upped their game in terms of Customer Service, so I hope they will come through. I have managed a temporary fix in the meantime. Lastly, I have an issue of condensation puddling at the bottom. I have several science degrees, but I can’t figure it out. There is no drain, as far as I can tell. Moisture can get in if there is a bad seal. However, there is a strong vacuum lock after opening and closing indicating a tight seal. Overall, we love it!!! Cold and quiet!!! Five stars!!! EDIT: Galanz supplied new handles and screws to replace the faulty ones. Customer service has improved immensely since my initial warranty inquiry.

looks and fits nice in my tiny home, but...there is always a but
update: dec 2025 once again the refrigerator part was not cooling. I went through all the troubleshooting steps thinking maybe it was the drain tube which is not in a normal place it’s at the top in the back behind the temperature thing. I put some red Kool-Aid down there and it came out the bottom back real easy so I knew the tube wasn’t clogged up. Again it turned out to be it froze between the interior walls on the back. Literally have to unplug it let it thaw out for at least a day figure out what you’re gonna do with your food in the freezer and figure out what you’re gonna do with your food in the refrigerator while it’s thawing itself out. Then you gotta figure out how to get all the water that drips in the drip tray pan thing in the bottom at the back how to get all that water out because there’s no way to stick anything in there to suck it out. So I figure I’ll be unplugging it and let it fall out every 4 to 6 months if I keep it. The other problem is and I should warn everybody do not put gallons of milk or 2 L of soda in the door even though it says it supposed to don’t do it. You will end up like me and your door will not lineup and seal correctly. I don’t know how to raise the door up permanently I have a screwdriver in there holding the door up so it seals otherwise the seal does not lineup on the refrigerator section. It makes the most weirdest noises sounds like someone’s stomach is growling. When I did reach out to the company when I first had the issue a couple years ago I guess they were literally no help. so I’m supposed to be able to in my mind to fix the door not lining up with the seal or the seal not lining up with the refrigerator it seems like I have to take the door off don’t ask me how I’m gonna do that and then put like another nut underneath to raise it up and then put the door back on . Yeah OK I live in a tiny house how the hell am I gonna freaking get a door off all by myself and put it back on the worst part is you can’t even switch the directions that the doors open up it’s just one side so I can’t even like switch the hinges since I think the milk in the sodas made the door lean down. I am never buying anything from this company again. Yeah it looks cute but it’s not worth the hassle of having to defrost it every few months and you can’t fill it up too much because that will make it freeze up faster has to have a lot of circulation. Water drips down underneath the vegetable drawer and makes a nasty mess… every couple of months. So right now I have a screwdriver wedged under the door to raise it up so it seals correctly until I can figure out what I’m gonna do. They do not make things like they used to this is only 3 1/2 years old and I’ve had problems every few months. I got the black 10 ft.³ refrigerator freezer May 2022. up to the last two months things in the back of the refrigerator would freeze. Lotta times making them useless. You can't use sour cream if it freezes you can't use salad after it freezes etc... I've also noticed since I've had the refrigerator freezer it makes these weird noises it almost sounds like someone's stomach is growling when they're hungry. Recently recently I've noticed the refrigerator part is not cooling as well as it used to. My sodas are cool but they're not cold. Stuff isn't freezing in the back anymore either. I've tried adjusting the knobs in the freezer and the refrigerator to see if that does anything but so far it hasn't. My friend told me maybe I should pull it out and vacuum underneath of it or something? I'm also going to empty it completely out wipe it out maybe somethings clogged up? I don't know I really can't afford to buy another refrigerator right now especially after hurricane beryl. most everybody in Houston - I'm in Sargent right with the hurricane hit received $750 for miscellaneous and food replacement and what not and I just got my letter saying I'm denied. They're probably out of money after hurricane Debby hit Florida And went up the East Coast. And we still have more than three months left of hurricane season. I never get any assistance and I don't even have any insurance health or home. They don't make things like they used to. Not enough profit if something lasts 20 or 30 years. So they keep making junk so you have to keep replacing it which is not good for the environment Since it fills up all the landfills. update july 30 2025 - once again I noticed the refrigerator was not cooling but the freezer was working fine since I troubleshot last time this happened I knew what to do. I had to empty out everything in the freezer I put it in the refrigerator to keep everything in there cool. I got my steamer and started melting the ice that built up on the bench in the back then I unplugged it for a couple hours cleaned out the freezer part since it was empty. When I plugged it back in I put the thermometer in the refrigerator section and it seems to be cooling once again in the refrigerator section. It seems like you can't really put a whole lot of stuff in the freezer section and on the left side of the refrigerator you can't have it next to anything it needs like at least 12 inches of space or it gets extremely hot it gets hot anyway but it gets hotter if you have it up against something on the left side. I really like this refrigerator freezer combo but I don't like when it quits cooling and I have to spend hours doing this defrost emptying it out crap.
