Why does the silver one appear not to have a lid?

Hi, you've not read the description. This 'silver Zippo lighter' is not what you think it is. It is an insert. You will need to buy a separate case for it, or do what I bought it for, replace a tired looking insert of a Zippo lighter I already had. I love it. You'll need to stock up on butane lighter fuel though (a quid or less a can) as you will want to show it to friends and family as there are two powerful jets of flames when in use, which look very impressive and it is quite thirsty. Highly recommended.

Does the lifetime warranty apply with this item as other zippo products have?

No, I believe it is just a standard 2 year guarantee on this item

Does it have flit you have to replace

No you do not need to replace the flint.

Hi I want to buy this to leave in the car for emergencies, however, I can't seem to find anywhere which sells empty cases

Unfortunately you have to buy a zippo lighter and replace the fluid case with the butane case.
