Mitica, Almonds Marcona Prepacked, 4 Ounce

These are sinfully good even though they’re pricey. Be prepared to eat the entire container in a few sittings.

Although I usually buy Mitica marcona almonds when they are packed by Whole Foods, the store was out of that version and instead had this prepacked version. I went for it. These taste just as good and as fresh as the ones I usually get. Like those, the almonds are coated in sunflower oil and sea salt, making them a bit messy. Have cocktail napkins on hand. The flavor of marcona almonds is out of this world and nothing like ordinary almonds. I'm not a huge fan of regular almonds, but I cannot get enough of these. They taste buttery and distinctive with none of the usual bitterness. -- Debbie Lee Wesselmann

I’ve been buying Marcona almonds for years when suddenly they became very expensive and then WF came out with these. Some are sweet and some are bitter. I’d say it’s half and half. For the price per pound and the issue with bitterness, I would not buy them again.

These are delicious. Unfortunately there are often a few that are burned and if you eat them by the handful it ruins the flavor of the entire bunch so you have to pick through them. Very expensive. But so far haven’t found another at Whole Foods so that’s that. Will look for a less expensive option online.

BEST of the Best! You either know about these or you don't. They ELEVATE everything, and there's even research on them being better for you than regular almonds. Listen, for entertaining, for going the renowned Hollywood BOWL--bring these! Pair with any good cheese & berries for a SIMPLE charcuterie plate! Boom done! These are so good, it's not even funny. Enjoy! Great with cheese & white wine!

For $9, I expect my 4 oz of almonds to be a bit more on the fresh side and not veering into inedible. They were edible, but barely. I wouldn't have served them to guests though.
