This Rapid Heavy Duty 31 plier stapler works well to join cardboard when making custom cartons. Wide throat, thick staples, authoritative action when squeezed. Probably all for the best that the blunt anvil is supplied, as the sword anvil would likely be a complexity. Update 2023-01-05 follows. Wow, five years and still going strong in daily use. Making custom containers (cardboard boxes) continues to be easy with this tool. Superior to tape, makes a stronger box. As far as the sword anvil, given that I am cutting cardboard anyway, I use a utility knife to pierce. This works great. Hence I have no need for the sword anvil. Of course you need staples that fit. And there are two lengths. I thought I'd like the short ones better, but find them similar. Two cautions: Oil near the front where shown on the unit. Expect the last one or two staples of every strip to form less well.

I bought this Rapid 10540310 HD31 Classic Staple Pliers to staple strips of 7-9oz leather together when I am making leather keepers for leather belts. So far it has worked great and made my life much easier. I wish I would have bought it sooner.

I work at a pharmacy, and we staple folded monographs/receipts to the bags. Normal plier staplers could only go through like 3 folded monographs consistently. So I bought this, with some 3/8" heavy duty staples. Just tried it out yesterday, and it easily went through like 8 folded monographs. Excellent purchase. Does not come with any staples, and the heavy-duty staples is uses are not easily obtained locally, so just go ahead and buy a box when you buy this. Also, buy a good staple remover, because these staples go in there good.

These are used for road embankment pre-fabricated horizontal drain connection.

Excellent well-made tool. We're using it to staple two thicknesses of corrugated plastic wraps for young citrus trees. It's strong enough to get the staple to hold well and doesn't cause much hand fatigue.

Beware of this stapler as it requires a narrower staple than is generally available in the USA.
