Basecamp Perfection
Shocked. Everything I’ve ever wanted in a camp stove. Compact. Perfect design. Efficient. I mean should I expect anything less from Snow Peak? But seriously. I can’t believe how crappy other stoves are after using this.

Good, but not the best.
Good, but not the best.

Great for car camping
Honestly, I bought this stove because it looked like it compacted nicely. Put into use though I was impressed. Boiling a kettle of water for morning coffee was as fast if not faster than on my home stove. I cook grilled cheese over a really low flame and this stove handles it beautifully. Overall very happy with it.

Quick heating and cooking
Very impressed with this stove everything can be cooked on low and in record time. Very easy to set up and use. Have used this on a camping trip and cooked about 5 meals and all on one can on butane!

Good value
Pros: Sturdy and the base has a large footprint for medium to large size pans and pots. Folds away nicely in a small space. Cons: the burner is mainly in the center so you'll get a hot spot in the center of the pan.

Good look product but I order a different color
Love the product but I order black and it showed up in khaki. Still gets the job done and not returning it.

Cool but a little heavier than expected
I like the mechanism to be folded

どこにでも置いとけます。
室内室外での使用に便利です。 コンパクトに収納出来ますので、置き場に困りません。収納すればガスコンロとは思えないのが良いですね。

Disappointing coming from SnowPeak
I really wanted to like this stove. The folding mechanism on the GS-600 is beautifully engineered and shaves about 2 lbs off the weight of the stove compared to conventional butane stove brands here like Martin and Outbound …..but at 10x the price. Heat output is only average at 8,000 BTU so it’s only a serious consideration if space is a premium and money is no object. Storage protection requires the purchase of an optional (and expensive) neoprene sleeve whereas every other butane stove on the market comes with a plastic storage case. The wide four-legged design is solid when deployed and well suited to picnics and home use where flat surfaces are available to set the stove up on. It’s also easy to use but comes with some puzzling paradoxes: The description claims the “expanded trivet supports even large cookware for shared meals” and “can support larger & heavier cooksets” ….. and then goes on to caution against using “cast iron, ceramic, or stone cookware” because of radiant heat issues. I find that puzzling because the trivet will only support pot sizes between 10 and 25 cm ….. so that means no small camping cookware but no heavy duty cookware either, even though I would think the open design would avoid any overheating issues. Moreover - although the pot support area is wide, the flame is concentrated in a central area to the point that it’s impossible to evenly heat up a larger pot or pan - the boil pattern in any pot of water makes that abundantly clear. Even on low the stove can burn food in the middle while the outer edges of an 8 inch frypan are still cold. That pretty much leaves only conventional sized stainless steel or aluminium pots and pans - something to keep in mind. Incidentally, there’s no similar warning or restriction on an Iwatani 35FW even though the output is almost double at 15,000 BTU. The stove design is definitely well engineered and some things are well thought out - the magnetic fuel retention also provides over pressure protection, but there’s no getting around the fact that it’s an expensive stove that only has mediocre performance.
