Yup, it turns yellow in acids
Well, not much one can say about phenol red. As an acid-base indicator, it does turn yellow when you add an acid. The only thing that stood out with respect to this order was the ordering process. At first, the seller, Amato Industries, sent the wrong chemical. When I called them, they made it very easy to return, and sent a new bottle of the right stuff just a few days later. Very impressive, and I'd use the seller again in a second.

Defective product
Tried this in my commercial pool and couldn't figure out why I got a zero reading since it was brand new. I went to my pool store and bought the same stuff and it worked perfectly.

I’m not sure what this product is but you won’t get accurate PH readings. I regret buying it.

Defective and non-returnable
We restocked our Taylor kits with this only to find that ever PH reading is now zero... every pool? I don’t think so. Obviously useless and can’t be returned.
