Angle Grinder Tool, 4-1/2-Inch, 7.5-Amp (PC750AG)

This grinder is mean for the price! Nice and heavy duty, cuts quick, easy to hold with the provided handle, and everything was there. Even a grinding wheel which wasn't expected\listed which I've used quite a lot and still looks as if it's barely been used. I did use it to cut rubber with a cutting wheel i bought and it was pulling HARD yet the motor never stopped spinning. Surprisingly powerful. This was more than expected for the price. I purchased this grinder for $39.97. I seem to frequently find myself having to borrow a grinder from friends and family so I decided to purchase on for myself. I used this grinder to both cut apart an old propane outdoor grill, and cut apart links on a metal fence. Using a cutting wheel, I was able to easily and quickly complete both projects without any issues. The only issue that I had was that it was a little heavy to hold in an elevated position for long periods of time. Pros: * The grinder feels well built. There are no pieces or parts that jiggle or make noise, and it feels very sturdy in the hand. * The power cord is heavy duty and appears able to function longer and handle much bigger projects than I have planned. * The grinder comes with everything needed, including a grinding wheel. Cons: * Does not come with any type of case or bag to carry and store the grinder, but for the price that is pretty understandable. * It is a little heavier than I had anticipated, but not so much that I wasn't' able to complete the jobs. All things considered, for the money that I spent, this is a great product that I would definitely recommend to friends and family.

The PORTER-CABLE angle grinder is very well built and solid. It works well and stands up to heavy use and day to day work abuse. The cord is attached in rugged manner which was not the case with my DeWalt grinders. The only down sides to this grinder are: 1) it is heavier and bulkier than DeWalt; 2) the on/off switch has a robust design, but is a bit awkward to operate with welding gloves. The upside is very good quality.

First of all? I miss Porter Cable tools. They are EXTREMELY durable and long lasting. As for this 90 degree grinder? I love it. It has 3 positions for the handle instead of the normal 2 for greater flexibility. It's corded which is my choice. Why? Because running a motor at high RPMs on a battery equals a dead battery within minutes. Certain tools just are not meant to be battery powered. It comes with a metal cutting disk but I went ahead and bought a couple packs of Diablo metal cutting disks. As always, These high RPM tools are loud so definitely wear hearing protection as well as shatter proof eye protection. Take good care of it and it will take good care of your projects.

2 yrs later update: Had to replace the power cord after severing it on a dumb move by me. Grinder still kicks ace. I beat the crap out of it and it beats back. Has paid for itself 10 fold. definitely worth the money! Porter Cable did an excellent job in the manufacturing of this angle grinder. First off, the power is on point. Coming from a slightly less amperage grinder to this was a serious difference in power that I did not expect. The ergonomics and functionality of the entire tool are outstanding. The switch with the option to lock on is awesome, but I don't even need to lock it on because the switch is in a perfect location with your grip as opposed to those grinders with the switch closer to the spinning wheel, and in my case that eventually wears out and you battle to keep the thing on. Furthermore, my favorite part really is the threaded hole locations for the auxiliary handle. they've machines a thread in the top of the grinder and I absolutely love it. for those times you need to get into tight spaces or you're like me and always had my guide hand on top of the tool, this design is for you. awesome power, really attractive look, ergonomic and the guard is smoothly adjusted to avoid getting sparks shot at you. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I have not had it very long but I'm telling you, from a tinkering welder who does a lot of grinding, this piece is awesome. and the price!? cmon... can't beat it!

In my "box of power tools" there is one grinder which has been working for many years and has held up well. With an occassional brush replacement and repacking with grease, that grinder has earned the reputation of being "old reliable". I therefore just ordered a second one, which is this review. Darn good grinder and it will last. My first one is over 5 years old and still works perfectly. Excellent power, low vibration, manageable cord [some of the power tools out there have those cords which seem to want to wrestle when in use, but not this one] and all components have held up well. Be sure to buy some spare brushes and periodically clean and repack the gearbox and this grinder will last. This model has been in production for a long time and is still being produced with the same high quality build.

this is a great tool i used it to grind down the years of paint layers on my house went through it like butter has good spead and durable too

The trigger is dangerous as it has a safety switch in the middle, works but you have to be holding the grinder just rite to make it work. I like the grinder it has a nice weight and I would buy again
