After trying a few other brands, I decided to give the YoLink LoRa Smart Door & Window Sensor a try, and I am absolutely blown away by its performance! This sensor has quickly become the cornerstone of my home security and automation. The installation was incredibly simple. It took me less than a minute per sensor to attach them to my doors and windows using the included adhesive. Pairing them with my YoLink Hub was equally effortless, and they were recognized instantly. No complicated wiring, no fussy setup – just quick and easy integration. What truly sets this sensor apart is its use of LoRa (Long Range) technology. This is not just marketing hype; it genuinely makes a massive difference in range and reliability. I have sensors on detached sheds and gates at the very edge of my property, and they connect flawlessly to my hub inside the house, something other smart home devices struggled with. I get instant notifications on my phone every time a door or window is opened or closed, without any dropped signals or false alarms. This consistent, dependable performance provides immense peace of mind. The battery life is also exceptional, thanks to LoRa's low power consumption. I haven't had to think about changing batteries since I installed them, which is a huge convenience compared to other sensors that drain batteries quickly. I've integrated these sensors into various automation routines, from turning on lights when a door opens to triggering security alerts, and they perform flawlessly every single time. Yolink products are wonderful. I have the driveway alarms, water sensors and door alarms, and plan to buy more of their products in the future. I have the door sensors on my house doors and 2 out building doors. There is no wifi outside the house, so I was delighted to see that Yolink offered an affordable solution to outside areas. It is a comfort to know I will get a notification if a door opens or someone enters the driveway, especially when I am not on property. Some feedback: - At first, I purchased just the main hub (not the speaker hub). I later purchased the speaker hub as well so I would get an audible notification in the house without relying on my phone notification. - The app works very well and in real-time. It gives me options as to how I want to be notified if an alarm is set off. - The door alarms have a very strong adhesive tape. Initially 2 of the indoor alarms fell off, but when put back up (with the existing adhesive), they have stayed in place. The outbuilding alarms have stayed up, despite severely cold weather for the few months they've been installed. If the adhesive does fail, I'm sure I can find more adhesive for them. However, it would be nice if the alarms were made with an option to screw them onto the door/frame. - Even though the hub needs wifi, the LoRa system perfectly reads the alarms installed outside of wi-fi range. Even in the metal outbuildings where wi-fi signal is completely blocked, the system can tell me down to the second when the doors were opened and closed. - Installation of the hub & alarms is fairly simple. I found hooking up the hub & alarms to go surprisingly well, and they haven't disconnected from each other either. Scan each alarm separately (they each have their own scan code), preferably before installing them to make it easier. The instructions don't clarify this, so don't assume you can scan the code on the box to set them all up.

What a great product. I have the sensors on my refridgerator and freezer doors because the doors don't always close properly. Bought extra sensors to give to my kids so they start having fun and reliability with Yolink products.

Long story short, these two guys came to my house to clean my heating ducts and started to make really weird jokes about how they could rob me of my stuff and then resell it back to me. I didn't like that at all. So I came to Amazon to see what sort of solutions existed in this day and age, before I considered getting a professional home security system that you pay for every month etc. Yes, that option is by far the best if you want 100% peace of mind. That said, I wanted to give this product a try and here's what I have to say about it: PROS = everything is relatively small so it doesn't take up a bunch of space. The piece that connects to your router is the size of a smoke detector and can be set up on a wall, or leave it on the floor like I did, next to the router. I plug it in with the cable rather than WIFI, it's that much more reliable that way. It comes with 4 detectors, which is exactly how many I needed (2 windows and 2 doors). Once you're set up, you have to go into the app and click a few times to get to the alarm scenario you want to activate once you've left your home. Sometimes the app takes a few more seconds to launch and find your scenario. I absolutely love that I can see the situation anywhere I am, you can see in the app the status of each detector. I also love that I was able to get notifications sent to my smart watch (it sends an email if something is going on)! CONS Set up is wonky and rather unintuitive. Others have said so too. I spent more time than I wanted to on the software setup. IMPORTANT: don't do what I did, scan each detector BEFORE you stick it to the spot!! I installed a detector (after having to modify the door frame because it didn't fit naturaly) and then I had to scan it to include it in the software and I couldn't get my damn phone to see the QR code properly - and once you stick it to the door or wall it's over!! Also important: even though it has really good sticking glue some of the detectors eventually fall off. I tried hot glue and what not, nothing seems to work. I resorted to ugly black electric tape and so far this is the only thing keeping the detectors in place, for the ones that come off. It depends on the surface, and you should probably up your chances of success by cleaning the surface before sticking them on, which I did not do. I bought the siren alarm to go with it, the sound is alright but not scary alarming loud. Am I happy so far? YES! I can see what's going on when I'm away, I get prompt warnings if something is happening, and once the set up is figured out you're good to go.

Like all YoLink products it's very high quality. Works great to detect an open door or window. In my case I used it to remind me if I left the shed door open or if someone opens it in the middle of the night. Range is fantastic. Way better than wifi - will work even from a block away or more. The only thing I don't like about this (and many other YoLink products) is that they attach via double sided tape. Yes that's easy but in my case the magnet part eventually fell off the wood door. Why can't they provide screw holes? Such a small design decision that would have been really helpful. Not enough for me not to recommend it but really I expected to be able to screw these on if I wanted.
