A social wine drinker’s tool!
Are you a social wine drinker who enjoys a glass at home on occasion? Do you suffer draining about half of your favorite wine bottle in time because your cravings are somewhat infrequent at home? This tool solves that issue with corked bottles. Once you get the hang of the tool, the needles are easy to install, use and clean. Also, if you infrequently use this tool, the CO2 cartridges will last quite a bit of time. I’ve used this tool on three bottles (with only one CO2 cartridge) so far, all with great success due to the elasticity - or healing power - of good cork. Remember, the last glass in a bottle is the one where you “uncork” the bottle, of course... Overall, this tool will pay for itself compared to the waste of good wine over time. My bottles range from $20-$35, and my wife’s bottles are even more expensive. No worries, though, as we’ll enjoy every drop now!

Go ahead an open that expensive bottle of wine for just a glass; Phenomenal customer service
Since I rarely drink more than a glass or two of wine, I didn't like opening expensive bottles. With any other system, the wine falls apart after a few days. And Port is especially prone to an early death if not drunk witin a day or two. So, after seeing ads for this gadget, I finally dropped the $200 and waited, somewhat skeptically, to see how good it was. The answer: It's perfect, easy to use and clean. It goes through the cartridges pretty quickly, which is another expense, and I guess you know you have to replace the needle when it stops working as well--as in the cork doesn't seal itself and wine will leak out. However, I recently discovered that when you do get a leaky cork, if you just wait a few minutes, it will seal itself and you lay it down horizontally. Solved my problem of opening an expensive bottle for just a glass...or getting a glass from two bottles to compare. Update: After 5 months of loving this device, it stopped working. I called Coravin and got a human being on the phone in no time. He not only fixed the problem but sent me 3 free capsules because I'd gone through a couple that didn't work. A week later, it stopped workingagain. I called, got a human being, and after a few questions, he said the machine was probably leaking and he'd send me a new one. Since they don't make this model anymore, he's sending me a later one. No hassle. Great attitude. Makes this invaluable device even more valuable.

Must have device for every wine lover
This device is great and a must have for anyone who enjoys great wine. With this you can enjoy wine in quantities less than a bottle and not be concerned about the remaining wine going bad. I have used this to enjoy a glass of wine and then not have another glass for 2 months. No taste difference. My only regret is waiting so long to get a Coravin. I can’t explain the other ratings but this device is easy to use and effective. I wouldnt try dropping it or being rough or forceful, but if you treat it with care and only use it on natural corks it works great!

This saves wine for days!
Love the fact that this pours easily and fast if you get the easy pour needles. It's pretty and this is important. I have the blue and white one and gave that to my daughter. This is great to hold your wine's taste for days. It is very expensive though and I don't quite understand why it is. The cartridges don't last as long as they say they will and they are very expensive to. I am hoping in time the prices will go down. It does save you money by making your wine last longer.

Brilliant for its intended use
It's not a nitrogen/argon wine delivery system - for that purpose there are better choices. It's a niche product for folks that want a taste before opening a bottle or perhaps want to pour a glass or two from something from your collection or cellar but aren't in the mood for the whole bottle. So far I have only used it for sampling from wines with natural corks. In all cases the supplied needle slipped in and out effortlessly. The trigger was ergonomically positioned so using one hand to tilt and push the trigger was also straightforward. I'm not exactly sure how long a canister lasts since I never press out more than a third of a bottle (my wife and I can always compete a 2/3 bottle - no need for preservation). Other reviewers suggest the little canisters deliver about 4 x 750 ml = 3,000ml which makes sense although I got through about 20 bottles and can't quibble with the math that suggests I was extracting 150 ml on average. My sampling volume is ~20 ml which is about as short a pour as my trigger finger can physically accommodate. I took samples from a 1997 Sauternes 20 days apart. The impact of the argon over 20 days was imperceptible. Build quality is fine. Although much is plastic, it reminds me of the fit and finish of the first generation screw-pull.

works perfectly
What else can you say except the Coravin works. My wife opened a pricey bottle of wine using the Coravin with needle and backfilled the bottle with the Coravin argon injection. The pour was easy and fast and sealing the bottle was a cinch (just remove the needle). A few weeks later she took another pour from the same bottle and the flavor was perfect, as if it had never been opened. My father in law tells me he gets about two bottles out of each cartridge. I haven't had mine long enough to see, but I trust him on this. My wife is thrilled that when she's in the mood, she can enjoy a really extravagant pour without opening a full bottle and wasting some of it. This made a great Christmas present and her face lit up when she saw it.

Great device. Well engineered!
We are by no means big time wine consumers or connoisseurs. So the concept of drinking one or two glasses out of a bottle without uncorking it, then having the remaining wine remain fresh basically forever sounded fantastic! Well, this device has changed our wine drinking forever. As my heading states, the Coravin is sleek, well designed and easy to use. Now we never have to "Commit" to finishing a bottle when we open it. I have a shelf where I keep all our "tapped" wines and we can each have a glass of whatever we want with dinner even months later without any decrease in freshness. It really is ingenious. If we pull down a "tapped" wine with only 1/3 or 1/4 of the bottle remaining, we just uncork and enjoy the rest. The Coravin really frees up the selection process with regard to type and volume of wine consumed with no waste or spoilage. Bravo!

Has increased the value of my wine significantly
As a wine professional, it is my job to taste different wines all the time. I like to have a glass or two with dinner, but I also have my gf blind me and I do comparative tastings frequently. This method of extracting wine from the bottle without actually popping the cork has proved invaluable. It has effectively doubled the value of my collection. If you are someone who drinks a full bottle of wine every time, this product is not for you. If you are someone who enjoys a bit of wine at home occasionally, this product is for you. Now you can have that glass, half glass, or two glasses, and the remainder of the wine will be preserved in the bottle for weeks, even months, until you want more. This could save you lots of money, or you could spend a bit more on nice wine knowing that you will be able to enjoy it on multiple occasions. If you are a wine professional who tastes wine frequently at home for pleasure and for education, what are you waiting for? Imagine if wine reviewers used a coravin when tasting 100 wines in a day and then donated the remaining almost full, unopened bottles to wine schools or industry tastings...
