Awesome Youngster Tool
Awesome little tool for a child to explore their world with. I have brought this in the past, and it was lost by my kid. He wanted another so badly, so based on their response to the loss of it, I would say that it is well worth the price

Lots of fun
My boys, ages 5 and 8, thoroughly enjoyed the different functions. It’s a great process to value given the number of things it does. To my surprise, the microscope function is pretty good. It really does magnify small items to where you can see the pixels of ink of a page.

This is really a terrific product for the young explorer
This was a present for my 6 year old friend. He's quite a fellow with an I-can-figure-it-out mind. He played with this gift making discoveries until a finally got tired and went to sleep. THEN: the older folks there got their hands on it and had a blast. This is really a terrific product for the young explorer, and it's quality is more than sufficient. It would be best if an adult could guide the recipient in its use and participate in the various investigations of natural things this little tool with multi-function can accomplish -and all this can be done in back-yard discovery, in the home, or wherever the young explorer is guided by an adult. Once its many uses are explained and taught through personal experience, it will open many learning opportunities to whomever owns it. Let me add, that one of its best qualities would be teaching investigation. So this little instrument packs a boatload of learning opportunities for the young. I highly recommend it for its quality, features, price, and learning capabilities. Believe me, this is really a fun and exciting instrument.

AWESOME toy that actually works!
I didn't expect this toy to be nearly as awesome as it was for my 5 year old (my 8 year old even likes it and steals it from his brother all the time). Heck it's even fun for an adult to use. ALL the functions described ACTUALLY WORK and work well. My husband and I even got a kick out of looking at the kitchen counter granite. Durability - he's had it for 6 months and it still looks new, but I've also cautioned him against banging or dropping it. Most unexpected use...needed a lighted magnification to remove a splinter from my son's hand and this toy was all I had handy. It worked great and I actually went looking for it again to remove another splinter several weeks later. This is such an inexpensive item but the amount of use it's gotten was well worth the price. This is the 3rd toy of this type we've purchased and this is by far the best.

surprising cool
Pretty cool actually. The microscope feature is very cool for kids. The compass was a bit shoddy and did not work that well, but the rest was good.

Decent microscope
All functions work well, except for the digital clock, it doesn't keep time and buttons stopped working after a month

Great discovery tool. We love all the features!
Great microscope, telescope, and overall fun discovery tool for my 7 year old son. I especially like how the light tilts to the side to look at items under the microscope view. My son loves it. We’ve gone around and inspected so many things up close! It’s plastic but it seems as if it won’t break easily.

Fun Adventure Tool for Kids
I ordered a pair of these and both kids are very excited to use them. Overall, it's a nice outdoor toy with fun features and without any sharps or knives. So far, the microscope is the favorite function. Oddly, on one of the two, the quartz clock will set but doesn't keep time. Seems like a total fluke, so having it replaced. Update: clock works as expected on the replacement. Great fun.

The X scope is a great toy for interested inquisitive little hands and minds. The very fact they have managed to cram seven functions into one toy is quite an achievement . All the functions are very good and work well and some perform above expendations. 1. The whistle , what I loved about this is you can hear it but it's not going to get you looking for a hammer to terminate the annoying noise. It's loud enough for my grandson to warn me that the zombie hoards are approaching , but not to loud ar shrill tha the neighbors will complain. 2. The microscope , I was very impressed by its simplicity and its function. Just adjust the light and take a look as we did at a dead wood louse and it looked like an armoured dinosaur from a science fiction film ,you could see clearly every detail even the tiny hairs on the legs . My little grandson was absolutely amazed , he spent hours looking for things to inspect around the garden. 3. The torch is a small bulb led light. It's not going to light up a room but great for a little boy to go in his blanket den. 4. The pirate telescope as my grandson called it has a good magnification ,again it's not gong to replace your lika binoculars to go twitching. But for a five year old boy it's powerful enough to look for pirates on the high seas or look for granddads jack Russell down the garden. 5. The clock is a great little aid to help a boy or girl learn the time. 6. I have now got a better sense of where everything is placed in my house and garden. My little explorer loves the compass he checks the direction of everything and is making a treasure map using his compass. 7. Last but not least a magnifying glass which makes checking things quickly before putting them under the microscope. It's a great educational , fun , toy. Like all toys of this nature it's not a toy you can give to a child and let him get on with it as he would proberly but it down after a few minutes. However if you take time to explain and demonstrate what it can do , your child like my grandson will get hours of fun from this inexpensive educational toy. Well worth every penny hours of fun and exploration for very little outlay.
