I have been buying this brand of water bottle for many years now. I still give this new water bottle version 5 stars, because it is absolutely the best water bottle we have been able to find. However, the new updates are NOT my fav. Positive: - The bottle body is still made of the same durable tritan material. BPA free. - bottle diameter fits into cup holders and backpack side pockets. - lightweight - the loop for carrying the bottle never breaks. - no straws (straws are icky germ habitats). Just an easily cleanable open chug concept. Note though, that this new lid has a smaller hole for drinking. - we have had several previous Opard bottles where the lid latch had chipped, and could no longer stay shut. Hoping that this new lid shape has a less breakable latch. Negative: - The former bottle, which I have been buying my family for years, had a nice linear modern look. The new flip lid has curves instead of straight lines (see photo). The old style hinge was wider and "sandwiched" the upper lid on both sides. Now there is only one pair of "holes" on each side of the hinge, so the hinge is not as stable and more easily breakable. - The new lid has an air hole to prevent a vacuum while you are drinking. (I never had a problem before.) Because there is an additional hole, they have added an additional seal for the extra hole. In my estimation, additional seals make for additional germ hiding places, so not thrilled to have the added seal here.

I really do enjoy this water bottle as I have two of them. They are light-weight and nice to take with me on my hikes. While I still would rate this as five stars, there are a couple of little things buyers should know about when purchasing as it's not a huge deal after I learned a couple of tricks. 1.) When drinking, make sure to drink it with the lid facing away from your face - not to the side as water will spill out of the small hole on the top. Not sure why it's there, but it's on both bottles I've purchased. 2.) I like to put electrolyte packets in my water, so the requires me to shake the bottle. Make sure when closing the lid that you also slide the lever on the front of the bottle, up until it clicks. This prevents water from leaking when you shake it. I really do enjoy the various color choices, the amount of water in the bottle, and times for when you should be finished drinking a certain amount of water. I would purchase more in the future.

I took this with me to the airport and used it during a 4-hour flight and an 8-hour layover in Vegas. Go through TSA with it empty and fill it with water afterwards. It's water-tight and secure. Slides into my backpack side pocket no problem. I dropped it a few times with no issues. I only wish I could easily get ice at the airport. EDIT: If there's a Dunkin' Donuts at the airport after you go through TSA, just ask and you can get ice for a nominal charge or free depending on location. EDIT: As far as this bottle, it went from being my favorite to my most hated. The rubber lid gasket disappeared somewhere at the airport on a subsequent trip and the bottle leaked all over my food when not kept upright. The gasket should stay in place and not randomly drop out when refilling. They advertise a "12-Month worry-free warranty" and a leak-proof guarantee, but the vendor has not responded to messages sent via their website. They claim to respond within 12 hours during normal weekdays, but they've not responded at all. Therefore, the manufacturer's warranty claims in this listing are false and misleading. EDIT 2: Back to 5 stars. After waiting over 4 weeks, Opard finally responded to my email and honored their warranty by sending out a brand new replacement bottle.

Definitely leak proof

I’ve had two of these bottles. I loved the first one but lost it after about a year. Loved it so much I bought another, and this one has been a pain because the gasket in the lid falls out around the fourth time I refill my bottle. I’ve been lucky so far because I’ve found it each time, but I’m tired of adapting to something that doesn’t work like it’s supposed to.

I bought this in Blue an year ago. After kid used it for an entire school year, bought another one in Red (this particular purchase) as a backup (because I was worried of it going Out Of Stock as its a good item). My kid is the not too gentle with his things so, the bottle has seen its days thrown around, dropped accidentally, forgotten in the car when its a 100 deg. No cracks, no warps. Used it every single day. Good sized bottle that can hold water enough for my 7 yr old for a few hrs on a normal school day. Easy for the little hands to carry around. Very easy to operate. Does NOT leak. Locks perfectly. Moreover, Super easy to clean. I wash it every night and let it dry for use the next day. I handwash hence cannot comment about how it does in a dishwasher. Overall - Great bottle.

I bought two of these bottles as I had similar bottles previously which were brilliant. Unfortunately, the locking mechanism on the lid has been removed and the opening button gets knocked easily and leaks everywhere. Please add the locking mechanism back onto the lid!

I just purchased this waterbottle for my son. It is a great size to fit in most backpacks. It includes a lock to prevent it from accidentally opening and leaking. The spout is a decent size to fit most kids' mouths. It also includes measurements for how much liquid is left. Also has a little hook for carrying. Only one problem, it's not dishwasher safe so meaning you'll have to wash by hand. Great product, would purchase again in the future if needed!
